남해 도서지역 초도 민요공동체 산다이의 전개와 화전놀이의 교차 (The Development of Sandai, a Folksong Community of Chodo, and the Crossover of Hwajeonnori in the Island Regions of the South Sea)

초록

이 논문은 멸치잡이와 관련된 남해 도서지역(島嶼地域) 초도(草島)의 구비전승물을, ‘민요공동체 산다이의 전개와 화전(花煎)놀이의 교차’라는 관점에서 살피되, 해양정서(海洋情緖)인 ‘개방적 다양성’에 초점을 두는 동시에 현사회에서그것이 지닌 도서해양문화사적 위상을 검토한 것이다.
완도～고흥～남해권에 속하면서, 해양문화의 기점(起點)이 되는 거문도, 육지문화의 통로(通路)가 되는 남해도 등의 남해 도서지역 멸치어장권에서, 초도 사람들의 구비전승물에 대한 문화적 조건은 ‘손죽도는 화전놀이, 초도는 뱃노래’로간주되는 ‘개방적 다양문화’이고, 초도 사람들의 구비전승행위는 구비전승물의 개별성이 강조되고 지역의 일반성이 구현되는 것이다.
남해 도서지역 초도의 구비전승물에서 ‘다양성’은 생명성, 적응성, 의식성과함께 한국인의 ‘대상-인식-표현과 관련된 민속문화의 소통장치’로 구축되어 다른 해역과 같이 도서정신(島嶼精神)으로 구현되는 일반적 특성이 있다. 이에 비해 ‘개방성’은 생태성, 자연성, 진취성과 함께 남해인의 ‘대상-인식-표현과 관련된 민속문화의 소통장치’로 구축되어 남해 해역에서만 도서정신으로 구현되는개별적 특성이 있다.
남해 도서지역 초도 사람들은 다양․개방의 놀이면에서 풍어제(豊漁祭)를 시가무(詩歌舞)로 푸는 행위를 통해 놀이의 결절점(結節點)을 만든다. 초도 사람들이 하는 산다이 방식의 화전놀이는 ‘여럿이 모여서 소리하고 노’는 산다이의 언어적 진술로, 산다이의 소통과 민요의 연행에 의해서 추동되고 있다.
살핀 자료에 한정해서 볼 때 초도 사람들은 삶의 정황이 표현된 소리를 통해해양정서인 개방적 다양성을 구현한다. 즉 시간(세월)의 외로움을 부각시키기위해 공간(섬)의 사물을 최대한 활용하여 보조한다. 따라서 남해 도서지역 초도의 구비전승물은 해양문화사적 가치를 지닌다고 할 수 있다.

영어초록

This study investigated an oral heritage of Chodo in the islandregions of the South Sea in relation to anchovy fishing from theperspective of the 'development of Sandai, a folksong community,and the crossover of Hwajeonnori,' at the same time the studyfocused on the marital emotion of 'open diversity,' and reviewed itsmarine cultural status in the modern society.
Belonging to Wando-Goheung-Namhae regions, the Chodoislanders' cultural condition in the oral heritages is that 'Sonjookdois featured by Hwajeonnori, and Chodo is by fisherman's song,'and the islanders' oral performances have been emphasized by theirindividuality and realized by local generality in the anchovy fishingground of the island regions of the South Sea.
In the oral heritages of Chodo within the South Sea islandregions, 'diversity' is established as 'a communication device offolksong culture in relation to object-essential thinkingstrategy-recognition-consciousness-phenomenic expressionstrategy-action-emotion, along with vitality, adaptability andconsciousness'; and it has general characteristics which have beenrealized as island spirits same as other sea areas. In comparison,'openness' is established as 'a communication device of folksongculture in relation to object-essential thinking strategy-recognition-consciousness-phenomenic expression strategy-action-emotion,along with ecological property, naturality and progressiveness ofthe South Sea islanders,' and it has individual characteristics whichhave been realized as island spirits only in the South Sea regions.
The Chodo people in the South Sea islands regions create a playnode through performances that materialize a ritual for a big catchof fish as poem, song and dance among various and open playgenres. A Sandai-typed Hwajeonnori which is performed by Chodoislanders is a Sandai's linguistic statement that is 'realized bygathering, singing and playing together,' and is driven by Sandai'scommunication and folksong performances.
In the reviewed study, Chodo islanders realize open diversity,which is a marital emotion, through Sori which is expressed bytheir life aspects. In short, they fully support space (island) thingsin order to highlight their loneliness in times (years). Therefore, theoral heritages in Chodo of the South Sea island regions has theiroriginal values in the marital cultural history in consideration ofthis reason.
