역사인물의 이야기가치와 활용방안 검토 －안용복을 중심으로－ (The Value of Stories of Historical Figures and a Consideration of the Stories: Focused on Ahn Yong Bok)

초록

스토리텔링에서 역사인물은 왜 논의의 대상이 되고, 어떻게 표상되며, 어떠한 방향으로 확장되어야 하는가? 역사적 사실을 임의로 재단할 수 있다는 우려에도 불구하고 역사인물은 지역으로부터 적지 않은 주목을 받아왔다. 특히 스토리텔링이 문화산업의 요체(要諦)로 인식되고, 특수하고 개성 있는 삶이 보편적 가치를 내재한다는 생각이 확산됨에 따라 역사인물을 활용한 스토리텔링에 대한 관심은 점차 높아지고 있다. 하지만 현장의 관심에 비하여 스토리텔링과 역사인물을 잇는 학술적 담론은 여전히 빈약한 편이다.
이에 논자는 역사인물과 스토리텔링의 관계를 담론화하기 위해 안용복콘텐츠를 검토하고, 인물의 생애에 내재된 이야기가치를 도출해 스토리텔링 방향과 활용방안을 제시하고자 했다. 안용복은 독도 영유권 수호 담론과 직결되는 인물로 관련 스토리텔링을 통하여 정치외교적으로 민감한 사안을 유연하게 형상화할 가능성을 갖고 있다. 그러나 지금까지의 스토리텔링은 안용복의 입체적 이미지와 생애를 효과적으로 드러내지 못했고, 인물의 현재적 가치를 도출하는 데에도 어려움을 겪은 것으로 판단된다. 스토리텔링에 대한 대중의 참여와 몰입 또한 쉽지 않았던 것도 한계로 지적될 수 있다. 또한 보다 효과적인 논의를 위하여 역사에서 찾아볼 수 있는 인물의 생애에서 현재적 가치를 제시하고자 하였다. 그 결과 인물의 이야기와 관련된 주요 플롯과 핵심 가치를 도출할 수 있었다. 또한 마련된 스토리를 토대로 ‘안용복 루트’ 및 지역민을 중심으로 운영되는 ‘스토리텔링클럽’ 등의 활용방안을 제시하고자 하였다.
이 글을 통해 역사인물과 스토리텔링의 상관관계를 밝힌 담론이 추가되고, 역사의 일부로 ‘기록’되었던 안용복을 함께 ‘기억’하는 장(場)이 마련되길 기대한다.

영어초록

In storytelling, why have historical figures been discussion topics, how have they been represented, and in what direction should they be understood? Despite concerns that historical facts can be arbitrarily changed, to date historical figures have received not inconsiderable attention in the process of developing local cultures. Rather, as a perception that storytelling is a key (要諦) to cultural industry and universal values are inherent in a special and distinctive life spreads, it seems like that attention to storytelling with the use of historical figures increases. Yet still discourses linking historical figures with storytelling are relatively inadequate.
At this, as the writer I reviewed the storytelling in the content of Ahn Yong Bok and drew the value of the story through his life to present a direction of storytelling and methods of using it, and ultimately, to make relationship between historical figure and storytelling discussed. As everyone knows, he is a figure directly related to discourse on protection of the ownership of Dokdo; the related storytelling has potential for making politically and diplomatically sensitive issues crystallize into flexible ones. But the storytelling that has been performed so far has failed to reveal his multifaceted image and life effectively; and it is thought that the storytelling has had a difficulty in drawing the present value of the figure. In addition, it is not easy for the public to participate in it and become immersed in it, which can be pointed out as a limitation.
For effective discussion, I intended to look comprehensively at the Ahn Yong Bok content that has been created and present the present value of his life that can be found in history. As a result, it was possible to draw a main plot and a core value that are related to the story of the figure. And based on the prepared story, I intended to present ways to use ‘The Ahn Yong Bok Route’, the local resident-centered ‘Storytelling Club’, etc.
I expect that through this writing discourses revealing correlation between historical figure and storytelling will be added and opportunities(場) where we can ‘remember’ him together, who has been recorded as part of history.
