중부지역 청동기시대 전기 주거의 공간 활용 (Space Use of Dwelling in the Bronze Age, Central Region of Korea)

On the perspective of methodology and also as a fundamental work for the study of space inside the dwelling in the Bronze Age, it is important to analyze the development process based on materials found in dwelling and to recognize the patterns by understanding contexts of excavated relics. In specific, this study investigated space division of inside dwelling focused on fire pot, storage pit and exit. In addition, the location of exit is confirmed in this study which has been less discussed in other literature.
Looking carefully into the distribution of relics, storage space includes not only storage pit but also edge of the wall and facilities for rack. On top of that, storage space is confirmed to be used for food process as blades for sharpening and stone plate for sharpening were found in the storage space. Also, the working area is confirmed to produce mainly stone tools, whose work was done near fire pot. Given the fact that cooking tools which showed cooking trace were excavated in fire pot and considering the organic connection between cooking and eating and lighting, it is confirmed that cooking and eating were done near fire pit. In addition, sleeping is confirmed to be everywhere except storage space.
Lastly, majority of dwellings showed changes in their location of exit depending on dwelling’s shape and size. For example, dwelling used to be near short wall; however, it moved toward long walls having elaborated structure due to the increase of family members, later. This also suggests that there was a close relationship between dwellers’ channel of movement and convenience of storage use.
