한국어교육의 문화 통합에 관한 탐색적 연구 - 특수목적 한국어교육을 중심으로 (Exploratory Study towards Integration of Korean Education with Cultures: Focusing on Korean Education for Missionary Purposes)

초록

본 연구의 목적은 성경 스토리텔링 한국어교육 수업모형을 제안하고 문화교육 통합에 관한 방안을 탐색하는 것이다. 선교목적 한국어교육의 다양한 유형 중 성경을 교재로 하는 한국어교육은 가장 핵심적인 수업 형태라 할 수 있다. 한국어 의사소통 능력 향상과 성경 리터러시 향상을 동시 목표로 하는 성경 한국어교육은 일반목적 한국어교육과는 차별화되는 점들이 있다. 이에 성경 스토리텔링 기독교 교육 단계를 한국어교육에 적용하여 ‘청취와 관찰,’ ‘탐구와 묵상,’ ‘적용과 실천,’ ‘공동체 나눔’이라는 4단계로 구조화하였다. 각 단계는 이해와 적용이라고 하는 성경 연구 전통을 반영한 것이며 말하기 듣기 읽기 쓰기의 네 기능을 통합적으로 수업하게 한다. 또한 문화교육과의 통합에 있어서도 번역서라는 특징으로 인해 문화의 복합성 문제가 제기되는데 ‘의미 이해’ 단계에서는 성경문화를, ‘의의 및 적용’ 단계에서는 한국문화를 수업에 반영함으로써 자연스럽게 두 문화를 통합할 수 있도록 배치하였다. 나아가, 수업에서 문화교육을 통합할 때의 네 가지 기준을 ‘언어’ ‘문화’ ‘한국어’ ‘성경’으로 정하고 그 수업의 초점화에 따라 ‘성경언어중심 문화통합교육,’ ‘한국어언어중심 문화통합교육,’ ‘한국문화중심 언어통합교육,’ ‘성경문화중심 언어통합교육’으로 유형화하였다. 그리고 각 유형별로 교육의 목표, 교사, 평가 내용, 교육방법 등을 구체화하였다. 마지막으로 성경 한국어 문화 수업의 활성화를 위하여 이해와 적용: 문화 간 이원화와 통합화, 학습자 모국어의 활용, 복수 자료의 사용, 공동체 언어 학습법의 활성화 등을 제안하였다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to suggest a model for Korean education with the Bible storytelling and to investigate the educational ways to integrate the related cultures. Korean education with the Bibles is one of the most essential patterns for mission purposes. This pattern with the Bibles which aims at the improvement of both communicative competence and the Bible literacy is differentiated from ones of other purposes. For this, it was applied to a Christian educational model with the Bible storytelling which consists of listening and observing, exploring and meditating, applying and acting, and sharing in communities; totally four stages were structured in the end. Those reflect the Bible study tradition that includes both activities of ‘understanding’ and ‘application’ in order and help the four skills such as speaking, listening, reading and writing be integrated in a class. Also, since there is an issue of complexity in the integration with culture education in this kind of specific purposes, it helps this model manage both diverse dimensions of cultures by dealing with the Bible cultures in the stage of ‘meaning understanding’ and Korean cultures in the stage of ‘significance and application’ respectively. Furthermore, it established four standards for culture integration such as language-centered, culture-centered, Korean-centered, and Bible-centered. Based on them, it categorized the class patterns: Bible language-centered integration class with cultures, Korean language-centered integration class with cultures, Korean culture-centered integration class with languages, and Bible culture-centered integration class with languages. Moreover, it specialized the aim, teacher, and evaluation according to each pattern. Finally, it suggested the duality and the integration of cultures in the all activities of meaning understanding and application, the utilization of learners’ mother tongues, the presentation of plural materials and the active application of community language learning(CLL).
