초록

According to the research of the Japan Foundation, the Japanese language learners are more interested in the intellectual aspect of Japan and Japanese than in the practical purposes such as job search or studying abroad. In other words, it can be said that the Japanese language learners are more exchange-oriented and learning-oriented rather than practical-oriented. If so, learning Japanese would be more effective if the two major purposes of learning Japanese can be combined. Therefore, this study discussed the case of "Easy Japanese for Tourism" through which the local residents of Yanagawa, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan are attracting the Japanese language learners from around the world.
Currently, Yanagawa City is mainly targeting the Japanese language learners from Taiwan, but Korea is the third largest country in terms of the number of Japanese language institutes and the number of Japanese language learners.
This study comparatively analyzed the characteristics of Japanese language learning, the intent to visit Yanagawa City, and the tourism programs and interpretation services preferred by Yanagawa City with emphasis on the Japanese language learners in each level. Based on the results of the analysis, we will develop a ‘Easy Japanese for Tourism’experience program of Yanagawa City for each level of Japanese language learners, and use it as a place for the basic Japanese language learners to monitor their Japanese proficiency and further as a place for cultural exchange where we can interact with the citizens of Yanagawa.
