초록

本研究は、1930年、西條八十主宰の詩雑誌『蝋人形』に掲載された李軒求の「朝鮮の在来童謡観」を対象に、李軒求が注目した朝鮮の童謡への理解と特徴を考察したものである。李軒求が早稲田大学仏文科に在学中、恩師であった西條八十との縁で掲載した「朝鮮の在来童謡観」は、この雑誌が創刊号から大きな反響を呼び、それによって朝鮮の童謡が大衆に知られた意義ある仕事であったにもかかわらず、これまであまり注目されてこなかった資料である。本研究では、李軒求が紹介した朝鮮の童謡と解説から、李軒求が伝えようとした朝鮮の文化と朝鮮に対する認識の再考、そして童謡の選定と分類において「音律」を重視していたことを確認した。李軒求は、童謡選定において朝鮮固有のものを求めたのではなく、中国の文化が朝鮮を経由して日本に伝わる文化の伝播という側面から朝鮮文化の位相を伝えようとした。また、同時代の朝鮮の童謡(民謡)において、一つの特徴とみられた「抑圧され、寂しい朝鮮の童女謡」から、年長者への尊敬と家族愛という肯定的な側面を見出した。そして、童謡の翻訳において、擬声語や擬態語のような語句の翻訳の難しさを共感しながらも、むしろ積極的に「韻類唄」と分類し、翻訳にとらわれない語句と韻律の繰り返しから普遍的な童謡の特徴を示そうとした。

영어초록

This study examines the understanding and characteristics of Korean children's songs, which were the focus of Lee Heon-Gu's attention, in his “The View of Traditional Korean Children's Songs” published in 1930 in the poetry magazine “Roningyo” presided over by Yaso Saijō. The article was published by Heon-Gu Lee while he was a student in the Department of French Literature at Waseda University, through a relationship with his teacher Yaso Saijō. The first issue of this magazine was a great success, and it is significant that “Korean children's songs” became known to the masses. However, it is a topic that has not received much attention until now.
Through the Korean children's songs and commentaries introduced by Heon-Gu Lee, this study confirms that Heon-Gu Lee tried to reconsider his perception of Korean culture and Korea, and that he emphasized “the rhythm of a poem” in the selection and classification of children's songs. In selecting nursery rhymes, Heon-Gu Lee did not seek something unique to Korea, but rather tried to convey the essence of Korean culture from the aspect of cultural transmission of Chinese culture through Korea to Japan. He also attempted to see the positive aspects of respect for elders and family love in the “songs of the oppressed and lonely Joseon girl,” which were characteristics of Joseon children's folk songs of the same period. In translating nursery rhymes, he shared the difficulty of translating words and phrases such as onomatopoeic and mimetic words. However, he rather actively classified them as “the rhythm songs” and tried to show the universal characteristics of nursery rhymes through the repetition of words and rhymes that were unrestricted by translation.
