Residential Complex Design Scheme for Spatial Welfare by Inducing Urban Vulnerable Class Interaction

초록

(Background and Purpose) Currently, there are vulnerable groups in Korean society, and it is necessary to provide spatial welfare for them. This paper analyzes the current situation of the elderly, young people, and children who are vulnerable from the benefits of welfare, and tries to embody the physical and spatial platforms that they can perform welfare related activities independently. Therefore, this paper proposes a residential complex that can solve the problems and public welfare services that each vulnerable class is experiencing by promoting interaction among them from the viewpoint of spatial welfare. (Research Method) The site was selected where the welfare base was poor and the ratio of the elderly and the youth household was high. Among the various candidates sites located in Seoul, Leemun 1-dong, Dongdaemun-gu was selected and SWOT analysis was performed to identify the characteristics. The concept of spatial design proposed in this paper is an inquiry into spatial form for active communication and generation integration in residential complexes that combine various functions and welfare programs. For this purpose, the Korean traditional alleyway, Golmok-gil, was suggested as a keyword as a communication place that encompasses various generations. As for the lower floor, various facilities and cultural facilities that can communicate with residents and outside neighbors in the complex, and the residential space that can communicate with each generation were proposed by type. (Results) Through the design plan, the space where each class can gather is provided and the spatial welfare platform that has sustainability through their interaction is suggested. There, they provided not only the role of welfare beneficiaries but also the sense of belonging to become a more active member of society through interaction with each other. The overall plan structure separated the residential and public space, but protected the privacy of the individual and considered communication with the residents and outsiders first. In particular, vertical exchanges were also presented through the sunken space. In residential space, residential units were developed considering the characteristics generations, and alpha programs were set up to promote intergenerational exchanges. This space was arranged for elderly residents, one-person household youth, and elderly-youth to gather together. (Conclusion) This paper analyzed the characteristics and requirements of the subjects who are socially weak through previous studies and statistical analysis, and derived them as architectural programs that can interact with each other. As a specific design strategy, the modernized transformed Korean traditional alleyway that created a chance meeting with neighbors was embodied and architectural devices for communication were reflected in the design scheme. In addition, this design scheme is not applied only in specific areas, but it is a prototype that can be applied by transforming it.
