초록

사냥과 채집 활동은 선사시대 인간에게는 생존을 위한 주된 활동이었다. 특히 단백질 공급원인 고기 섭취의 비중이 점차 높아짐에 따라 사냥이라는 활동 또한 중요시되었다. 인간의 인지력과 사회성의 발달에 있어 사냥 기술과 도구의 발달은 중요한 요인으로 작용하였다. 인간의 사냥 활동은 전기구석기시대부터 나타났으며, 후기 구석기시대로 가면서 사냥 도구는 다양해지고 이와 함께 사냥 기술도 발전하였다. 이는 선사시대 유적에서 동물 뼈와 도구가 함께 출토되고, 특정 동물군과 연령대가 집중적으로 확인되는 등 다양한 증거를 통해 확인된다. 또한 동물 뼈에서는 도구를 사용함으로써 형성된 자른 자국(cut mark)과 이 과정에서 사용된 석기에서도 생활 또는 사냥과 같은 활동과 관련된 다양한 흔적들이 관찰되기도 한다.
선사시대의 사냥 기술과 전략 등에 대해 이해할 수 있는 고고학적 자료는 극히 드물지만 민족지학 연구 결과를 통해 선사시대 사냥 전략에 대한 많은 요소들을 추측할 수 있었다. 선사시대 유적에서는 석기를 포함한 여러 종류의 도구가 주로 출토되는데, 이를 분석하고 연구함으로써 당시 사람들이 왜 도구들을 만들고 어떻게 사용했는지 알 수 있다. 이러한 연구 결과들을 바탕으로 선사시대 사람들의 생활과문화를 이해하고 재구성하고자 한다. 이러한 맥락으로 석기의 쓴자국 분석(Use-wear Analysis) 연구는도구의 기능을 이해하기 위한 효과적인 연구방법으로 활용되고 있다. 또한 유적에서 출토된 사냥과 관련된 도구 외에도 그림으로 그리거나 새겨 당시의 사냥 모습을 보여주는 바위그림(암각화, 암채화)을 통해서도 당시의 생활 모습을 이해할 수 있다.
논문에서는 선사시대 사냥의 시대의 흐름에 따른 변화와 유적에서 출토되는 다양한 도구 가운데 사냥과 관련된 대표적인 도구들을 간략히 살펴보았다. 그리고 사냥과 관련된 도구에서 관찰되는 제작, 사용, 장착 등의 흔적과 동물 뼈에 남은 인위적인 흔적과 당시의 모습을 반영하고 있는 바위그림들을 통해 인간의 사냥 활동에 대해 이해하고자 한다.

영어초록

Hunting and gathering activities would have been the main activities for survival for prehistoric humans. In particular, as the proportion of meat intake, a source of protein, gradually increased, the activity of hunting also became important.
In the development of human cognitive and social power, the development of hunting techniques and tools acted as an important factor. Hunting activity of humans appeared from the Early Paleolithic, and as it went to the late Paleolithic, hunting tools became diversified and hunting techniques developed along with it. This is confirmed through various evidence, such as the excavation of animal bones and tools from prehistoric remains, and the intensive identification of specific animal groups and age groups. In addition, various traces related to activities such as living or hunting are also observed in the cut marks formed by using tools in animal bones and in the stone tools used in this process.
Archaeological data to understand prehistoric hunting techniques and strategies are extremely rare, but the results of ethnology studies have allowed us to guess many factors about prehistoric hunting strategies. In addition, various types of tools, including stone tools, are mainly excavated from prehistoric ruins, and by analyzing and researching them, we can see why people made and used them at the time, and based on this, we will understand and reconstruct the lives and culture of prehistoric people. In this context, the use-wear analysis study of stone tools is being used as an effective research method to understand the function of the tool. In addition to tools related to hunting excavated from the ruins, you can also understand the lifestyle of that time through rock paintings that show the hunting conditions of that time by drawing or engraving them.
In this paper, we will briefly examine the changes in prehistoric hunting according to the passage of time and representative tools related to hunting among various tools excavated from the ruins. In addition, we try to understand human hunting activities through the traces of production, use, and installation observed in tools related to hunting, artificial traces left on animal bones, and rock paintings that reflect the appearance of the time.
