아비투스 관점으로 본 이타미 준 건축의 공간표현특성 연구 (A Study on the Spatial Expression Characteristics of Itami Jun's Architecture from the Perspective of Habitus)

초록

(연구배경 및 목적) 현대 사회에서 건축은 기능주의가 중시되며, 획일화된 형태가 반복됨에 따라 점차 기계화된 도시로 변모하고, 문화의 편중 현상이 나타나고 있다. 이에 지속적으로 조성되고 있는 지역성을 적용한 건축은 문화와 역사의 단절을 회복하기 위해 주로 동원되고 있다. 대표적인 국내 건축가로 알려진 이타미 준은 장소적 특색이 적용된 건축 방법으로 지역적 문화를 지속 또는 (재)생산하며 공간의 사회적 가치와 역할에 대한 정체성을 구축하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 지역성을 적용한 건축에서 나타나는 문화적 가치와 공간의 관계를 파악하고, 전통적 가치와 현대적 실용성의 융합을 실현하고 문화적 요소가 반영된 공간 내에서 문화적 자부심, 소속감 형성과 사회적 재생산의 도구로서 문화와 역사의 단절 속에서 결속의 가능성을 제시한다. (연구방법) 먼저, 연구의 대상인 이타미 준의 건축에 대한 전문 자료를 활용하여 건축적 사상과 공간요소를 분류한다. 나아가, 연구의 방법론으로 피에르 부르디외의 아비투스 이론의 고찰을 통해 해당 이론에 대한 방법적 구성요소를 파악하여 공간 분석을 위한 아비투스 이론의 공간적 인식과 접근을 통해 공간 분석을 위한 세부적 특성을 도출한다. 마지막으로, 건축가의 대표적 작품 사례를 선정하여 공간표현요소와 아비투스 관점의 공간 특성의 관계성을 분석한다. (결과) 이타미 준 건축작품을 아비투스 관점으로 분석한 결과, 첫 번째, 공간 내에서 개인은 일련의 규칙 속에 질서로 복속되며 방향을 선택하는 주체성을 갖춘 독립적인 자아로 경험적 인지성의 공간 특성이 나타난다. 두 번째, 단순히 전통을 재현하는 것뿐만 아니라 지역 사회의 요구와 맥락에 맞춰 능동적으로 재구성되는 과정을 통해 장소 조건의 원형을 보존하며 체계적 실천 동기로 능동적 실천성의 공간 특성이 나타난다. 세 번째, 생성된 공간을 통해 인과관계를 맺어 개인의 행동과 가치관에 유기적으로 연계되고, 개인과 집단을 결합하며 동기적 관계성의 공간 특성이 나타난다. (결론) 장소적 특징을 활용한 건축은 해당 지역과 문화의 가치를 보존하여 공간에 단절된 정체성을 회복하고 사회적 다양성을 추구한다. 지역적 문화를 차용한 체계적인 건축 전략은 사회의 내재적 자원인 문화 정체성을 구축할 수 있다고 판단되며, 해당 연구가 지역 정체성을 위한 건축 및 공간 연구 전략에 대한 이론적 자료로 활용되길 기대한다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) In modern society, architecture has become increasingly culturally focused on mechanized cities, with functionalist architecture being emphasized and unified forms being repeated. Accordingly, architecture that applies regionality, which is being continuously constructed, is mainly mobilized to restore the disconnection between culture and history in the current society. Itami Jun, known as a representative architect, sustains or (re)produces locality culture with architectural methods that apply regional characteristics and build an identity for the social value and role of space. Therefore, this study aims to grasp the relationship between cultural value and space that appears in architecture that applies regionality, It realizes the fusion of traditional values ​​and modern practicality as a tool for cultivating cultural pride, forming a sense of belonging, and social reproduction within a space where cultural elements are reflected, presents the possibility of solidarity amidst the disconnect between culture and history. (Method) First, we classify architectural thought and spatial elements using specialized materials on the architecture of Itami Jun, the subject of our research. Furthermore, as a methodology for our research, we grasp the methodological elements of the theory through an examination of the habitus theory of Pierre Bourdieu & others and derive detailed characteristics for spatial analysis through the spatial recognition and approach of the habitus theory for spatial analysis. Finally, we select examples of representative works by the architect and analyze the relationship between spatial expression elements and spatial characteristics of the habitus perspective. (Result) Analysis of Itami Jun's architectural works from the perspective of habitus reveals that, first, within the space, individuals are subordination to order manner to a set of rules, and an independent ego with the subjectivity to choose a direction, giving rise to the spatial characteristics of experiential cognition appear. Secondly, rather than simply reproducing tradition, the original form of the place conditions is preserved through a process of Active reconstitution according to the demands and context of the local community, and systematic practice appears as a spatial characteristic of Active Practicality. Thirdly, through the created space, causal relationships are formed, and it is organically linked to the actions and values ​​of individuals, combining the individual and the group, giving rise to the spatial characteristics of synchronous relationships appear. (Conclusions) Architecture that utilizes the characteristics of a place preserves the value of its region and culture, restores identities that have been severed, and pursues social diversity. It is reasoned that a systematic architectural strategy that borrows from regional culture can build a cultural identity that is an immanent resource of society, and it is hoped that this research will be utilized as theoretical material for architectural and spatial research strategies for regional identity.
