이 논문은 백석 시인의 작품에서 나타나는 은일 의식을 중심으로 그의 정신적 핵심, 생태 철학, 그리고 삶의 미학을 분석한다. 백석은 세밀한 자연 묘사와 일상적인 이미지들을 통해 은일적인 삶에 대한 갈망과 내면의 평화를 추구한다. 대표작인 「수박씨, 호박씨」, 「북방에서-정현웅에게」, 「귀농」에서는 소박하고 자연적인 이미지들이 중심이 되어, 세속의 번잡함을 떠나 자연으로 돌아가 정신적 자유와 고요를 찾으려는 강한 소망을 표현한다.

This paper explores the spiritual essence, ecological philosophy, and aesthetics of life in the works of Baek Seok, with a focus on the theme of reclusion present in his poetry. Through meticulous depictions of nature and everyday images, Baek Seok conveys a longing for a reclusive life and a quest for inner peace. In his representative works-such as Watermelon Seeds and Pumpkin Seeds, From the North-To Jeong Hyun-woong, and Returning to Farming-simple and natural imagery takes center stage, expressing a profound desire to escape the hustle and bustle of the secular world and return to nature in search of spiritual freedom and tranquility.
Watermelon Seeds and Pumpkin Seeds philosophically reinterprets the mundane aspects of daily life, depicting a quest for nature and inner tranquility. Baek Seok highlights the spiritual pursuit of reclusion in the countryside, drawing on the image of Tao Yuanming’s Master of the Five Willows. This spirit of reclusion plays a central role in his poetry, embodying a way of life that prioritizes inner peace and serenity.
From the North-To Jeong Hyun-woong presents the natural landscape of Baek Seok’s homeland as the very source of life.
