비즈니스 한국어 쓰기를 위한 이메일 담화 분석 - 국제 의료 코디네이터의 업무 이메일을 대상으로 - (E-mail discourse analysis for business Korean writing - Focused on business emails of international medical coordinators -)

초록

With the growing trend of the domestic medical tourism market, the number of medical tourism coordinators is increasing. Accordingly, there is a need for business Korean education for foreign medical coordinators working with Korean medical staff. As a basic study for this, this study compared the emails of Koreans and foreign medical coordinators working in domestic hospitals and medical centers. As a result, it was revealed that the e-mail of the medical coordinator had a ‘background statement’ item that did not appear in the e-mails requested by other occupational groups, and it was confirmed that urgency and accuracy are prioritized over ritual or rich expression due to the specificity of the medical situation.
On the other hand, the data targeted for this study are e-mails from a few of medical coordinators, and in particular, there are quantitative limitations in the data in that only two foreigners are included. Nevertheless, this study analyzes actual business emails and identifies structural features and strategies of use of emails by Korean and foreign medical coordinators, so that it can be referred to or used as practical educational materials for future medical coordinators’ business email writing education. Has significance in On the other hand, in order to improve the e-mail writing ability of foreign medical coordinators, it is argued that a grammar-centered sentence writing education plan should be prepared to acquire not only genre knowledge related to the structure of e-mail, but also the accuracy and coherence of the content. This is a proposal for medical coordinators in the cultural world to understand the linguistic and cultural differences, discourse structures, and expressive features that appear in e-mail writing.
