성천 관계 글을 통해서 본 이상의 인식 세계와 <終生記>·<倦怠>·<失花>의 의미 (Sang Lee’s Recognition World and The Meaning of · —According to His Essays Related to Seongcheon)

초록

그동안 이상의 수필은 그의 작품을 읽기 위한 자료로 이용되어 왔다. 그러나 수필에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 수필이 가지고 있는 문학 세계 및 인식 세계에 대한 규명이 중요하게 여겨지고 있다. 이에 지금까지 단편적으로 이루어진 성천 관계 글들과 그것을 통해 나타난 이상의 인식 세계를 살펴보고 <倦怠>와 같은 시기에 쓰인 <終生記>·<失花>의 내적질서에 대해서도 고찰해보았다.
먼저, 성천행은 ‘모파상 式’ 의미와 목적을 갖는다. 또한 이상에게 ‘센슈얼한 部面’은 유희와 더불어 삶을 지속시키는 인간의 근원적 힘이 되고 있다. 글쓰기를 유희로 삼은 이상의 권태는 처음부터 필연적인 것이 된다. <恐怖의 記錄>에서 자신의 모든 것을 다 주고 바꾼 ‘才操’가 속임수의 미학이기 때문이다. 따라서 이상은 공공연히 동경행을 외쳤으며 권태를 극복하는 방법으로 ‘자살 충동’을 이용하기도 한다. 결국 동경에 가서 <終生記>를 통해 속임수의 미학을 청산하지만 동경 역시 껍데기뿐임을 깨닫고 성천에 빗대어 <倦怠>를 쓴다. 이상은 알맹이-근대의 종주국의 미학을 원하나 그것은 알아들을 수 없는 불란서 말처럼 그에게 허락되지 않는 것이었다. 따라서 <失花>는, 생화를 잃어버리고 다시 조화-모조품을 발견한 것처럼 텅 빈 주체를 향한 근대적 주체의 본질을 꿰뚫고 있으며 형해와 흔적의 미학적 근대성에도 도달해 있다.

영어초록

An observation of Sang Lee’s essay is one of different methodology to approach his literary work. During that time, his essays have been utilized as supplementary data to accomplish the matters. However, as the interests about Sang Lee’s essay have been growing, the examination of his literary world contained in his essays and its recognition based on the literary world are being considered important. Sang Lee’s essays related to Seongcheon, hereupon, become accomplished until now fragmentarily observed and the investigation on the relationship between his recognition world and his work is considered.
Broadly speaking, Sang Lee who is a Seoul aborigine travels out of town three times. Paecheon, Seongcheon and Tokyo were the places he has been to. Seongcheon is not only becoming the most background of Sang Lee’s essays among the rest but also it is a place where his recognitions stay from even though while he is in Tokyo where it is considered as Mecca of modern ages.
<JongSaeng-Gi> and <SilHwa> written in Tokyo before his dead, have a very close connection to <GwonTyae>. Consequently, <GwonTyae> becomes having a close relationship to the writings and essays related to Songch'on as well. Therefore, investigations of the writings related to Songch'on, and <JongSaeng-Gi > and <SilHwa> based on the relationship between writings and essays and Songch'on will more clearly define his recognition world and the literary world.
First of all, at <The First Wandering> Sang Lee compares his first travel to Seongcheon with Maupassant’s. In addition, amusement, at the point of Sang Lee’s view, is a basic power of the human being which continues a life. In conclusion, the essay <GwonTyae> is a result of recognition that the modern ages of Tokyo is no more than the aesthetics of trick as well. The meaning of ‘Ending life’ from <JongSaeng-Gi> started writing at Tokyo, seems to be a declaration of cessation after pass by the confirmation of the modern ages of Tokyo with a shell only. Also <SilHwa> ostensibly is about the lost of aesthetics of trick, but on the other hand, it presents the sorrow being spread about the inevitable nature of colony in modern ages.
