초록

종교는 신앙공동체의 이상이 실현된 세계를 표방하고 있다. 이러한 이상세계를세계평화통일가정연합은(이하 가정연합) 천일국(天一國)이라고 칭한다. 천일국은 유일신 하나님을 중심으로 온 인류가 하나의 대가족을 이룬 평화의 세계라고 볼 수 있다. 가정연합은 천일국의 정착과 완성을 이루고자 하며 이를 신의 섭리에서 필연적인 목표라고 이해한다. 가정연합의 창시자인 문선명 선생은 천일국이라는 이상세계의 완성을 위한 섭리적 출발을 기원절(基元節)로 선포하였다.
가정연합의 기원절은 이상세계의 섭리적 출발을 함의하고 있다. 이상세계를 이루기 위한 한국 신종교 사상의 중심에는 후천개벽사상이 놓여 있다. 그렇기 때문에 가정연합이 말하는 천일국과 한국 신종교가 지향하는 이상세계는 후천개벽사상에 근거하여 이해될 수 있다. 따라서 가정연합의 기원절은 가정연합이 한국 신종교의 역사적 맥락에 서 있으며 한국 신종교의 후천개벽사상을 계승하고 있다는 점을 드러내고 있다.
가정연합의 기원절은 신의 섭리적인 시대경륜으로 후천개벽시대를 구분짓는 섭리적 시점을 말한다고 볼 수 있다. 따라서 가정연합이 말하는 기원절의 의미는 천일국이 시작된 기원절 이후에 궁행하는 가정연합의 새로운 실천을 통해서 이해될 수있다. 그 하나가 ‘천일국 헌법’ 제정과 반포이며 또 다른 하나는 천일국의 경(經) 편찬이다. 이를 통하여 가정연합 신앙공동체의 구성원들이 천일국 백성이라는 신앙인으로서의 삶의 자각과 실천을 궁극적으로 추구한다고 볼 수 있다.
가정연합의 천일국과 그 시작을 알리는 기원절이 역사의 미래를 구원할 수 있는가라는 궁극적인 질문이 남게 된다. 이는 종말론적 메시아니즘에 의해 역사의 미래를 구원하고자 했던 한국의 신종교에게도 환원되는 문제의식이라고 할 수 있다.

영어초록

Religion advocates a realized world of the ideal in a faith community.
Such ideal world is called to be Cheonilguk in the Family Federationfor World Peace and Unification (hereinafter the Family Federation).
Cheonilguk can be a world of peace where entire humankind forms abig family centering on the one and only God. The Family Federationis eager to achieve settlement and completion of Cheonilguk andunderstands that to be the inevitable goal in God’s providence. Rev.
Sun Myung Moon, the founder of the Family Federation, proclaimedthe Foundation Day as the providential beginning for completion ofan ideal world called Cheonilguk.
The Foundation Day of the Family Federation implies theprovidential beginning of an ideal world. new religion in Korea hasthe idea of Post-Heaven’s Creation in its core to complete an idealworld. So, the idea of Post-Heaven’s Creation can help understandboth Cheonilguk called by the Family Federation and the ideal worldintended by new religion in Korea. Thus, the Foundation Day of theFamily Federation reveals that the Family Federation lies on the historical context of new religion in Korea and creatively inheritsthe idea of Post-Heaven’s Creation of new religion in Korea.
The Foundation Day of the Family Federation can be considered asthe providential moment that distinguishes the age to be Post-Heaven’sCreation by means of God’s providential administration of the times.
So, the meaning of the Foundation Day entitled by the Family Federationcan be understood with the practices that the Family Federation newlyperforms since the Foundation Day when Cheonilguk began. One ofthem is the establishment and proclamation of ‘Cheonilguk Constitution’and another is the compilation of the bible of Cheonilguk. This canindicate that the members of faith community of the Family Federationeventually pursuit the self-awareness and practice of the life as adevotee to be the people of Cheonilguk.
There remains the ultimate question that Cheonilguk of the FamilyFederation and the Foundation Day of its beginning are able to relievethe future of the history. This may be a critical mind that is alsorecalled in new religion in Korea that has tried to relieve the futureof the history by means of apocalyptic messianism.
