동해안지역 신석기시대 석촉의 형식 분포와 변천 (A study on types of distribution and transformation of a stone arrowhead in Neolithic of the Eastern Coastal Area)

초록

본고는 동해안지역 신석기시대 석촉을 분류하고, 시간적·공간적 분포양상을 분석하고자 작성되었다. 석촉의 형식은 제작방법과 평면 형태를 기준으로 분류하였다. 형식에서 지역성이 확인되는 케이스는 타제 ⅠC형뿐으로 동해안지역의 신석기시대 석촉은 아직 지역성을 규정하기 어렵다고 판단하였다.
동해안 남부지역 석촉은 북부, 중부와는 형식적으로 단절되었고, 동해안 북부지역과 동해안 중부지역의 석촉은 세장한 형태로 점차 변화된다. 중기 무렵부터 소형과 대형으로 분화되며, 중기 후반부터 소형 석촉이 급증한다.
동해안 중부지역은 마제석촉이 일찍부터 다수 제작되었으며, 흑요석과 사누카이트 등 산지가 제한적인 돌감을 구하기 어려웠던 입지도 동해안 중부지역에서 마제석촉만 지속적으로 사용되는 현상에 영향을 끼쳤다고 보았다.
신석기시대 중기에는 용도와 기능에 따라 다른 형태의 석촉이 제작된다. 비거리를 늘리는데 목적이 있는 경우 소형의 석촉이, 피해범위를 증가시키고 물의 저항을 덜 받는데 목적이 있는 경우 가늘고 긴 석촉이 제작되었다.

영어초록

This study tries to classify the stone arrowhead of the Neolithic Age in the East Coast and analyze the temporal and spatial distribution patterns. The type of stone arrowhead was classified based on the manufacturing process and the planar shape. Because the form of the stone arrowhead that shows the regionality is only the type IC of the chipped stone arrowhead, it is difficult to define the regionality of the stone arrowhead in the East Coast region during the Neolithic period.
In the southern part of the East Coast, the form of the stone arrowhead was separated from the form of the stone arrowhead in the northern and central parts. The stone arrowhead in the northern and central parts of the east coast had been transformed into an elongated shape. From the middle of the Neolithic, the type of stone arrowhead was divided into a small and large size. From the end of the Neolithic period, the small size of the stone arrowhead dramatically increased.
In the central part of the East Coast, many polished stone arrowheads were produced from the early stage of the Neolithic era. This study suggested that one of the reasons why the polished stone arrowhead was continuously and primarily used in this area is associated with the location where it is hard to obtain the obsidian and Sanukite that are produced in specific areas.
In the middle of the Neolithic era, the different types of stone arrowheads are produced depending on the purpose and function. A small stone arrowhead was used to extend the driving distance, while an elongated stone arrowhead was produced for broader damage range and less water resistance.
