초록

2011년 이후 중동 지역은 수년에 걸친 혼란과 정치적 역학 관계가 더욱 복잡해져 가고 있다. 이후 중동은 2016년 초부터 시작된 사우디아라비아와 이란의 국교 단절, 수니파와 시아파의 본격적 갈등, 이슬람국가(IS)의 자행과 퇴락, 끊임없는 중동지역 테러와 시리아의 내전, 예멘과 사우디아라비아의 내전과 미사일 공격 등의 사건들로 인해 신 냉전의 시대가 시작되었다. 이러한 상황 속에서 중동을 향한 복음전도와 평화로 가는 길을 찾는 것은 매우 중요한 일이다. 그러므로 기독교인들은 외부자적 관점에서 중동의 현실을 바로 바라보고, 복음을 통해 아픔을 치유할 수 있는 방법을 모색하려는 노력을 계속해야 할 것이다.
이를 위해 첫 번째 해야 할 일은 중동 사람들의 삶을 끄집어내는 지표가 되는 전통 문화를 이해하는 것이 필요하다. 중동에서 이슬람은 삶이자 철학 이며, 종교의 테두리를 뛰어넘는 행동규범이며 삶의 방식이다. 이들의 전통 문화는 공동체성을 강조하면서 한편으로는 다양한 문화의 공존을 인정한다. 그리고 이곳 사람들은 문화와 전통에 따라 행동하며, 가부장적 사회의 전통이 지배한다. 물론 신도시의 형성과 함께 이들의 생활방식에도 큰 변화가 시작되고 있음도 주목해야 한다.
두 번째는 중동의 종교에 대한 이해가 필요하다. 중동 이슬람 지역은 단일공동체가 아니다. 종교적 문화적으로 다양성의 역사를 지니고 있으며, 다양한 민족과 종교가 공존하며 갈등이 존재하는 지역이다. 물론 중동의 종교적 갈등은 단순한 종교적 문제가 아니라 정치적 갈등으로부터 야기된 것이라는 점도 이해해야 한다.
세 번째는 중동의 영토 분쟁에 대한 이해이다. 중동은 종교적 분쟁 뿐 아니라 다양한 영토 분쟁이 존재한다. 서구 열강들의 식민지화 정책으로 인해 형성된 국경에 대해서 중동 사람들은 주권 개념으로 연결하여 거부감을 갖는다. 더욱이 이 지역은 부족사회 정체성과 자원의 문제가 연결되어 갈등이 심각하며, 종교적 갈등까지 더해져 부족과 국가의 영토 문제로 인한 내전이 끊임없이 진행되고 있다.
이러한 상황을 인식하고 중동에 복음을 전하기 위한 다각적인 노력이 선행되어야 한다. 먼저 이슬람의 영성문화를 바르게 인식하고 그에 따른 복음의 적용이 필요하다. 다음으로는 중동의 중심 벨트인 시아파 벨트와 수니파 벨트를 활용한 선교적 전략이 구축되어야 할 것이다. 또한 중동의 전통과 관습에 대한 구조적 변화를 인식하고 교회의 변혁을 위한 노력이 병행되어야 할 것이다. 결론적으로 중동의 복음화가 지정학적, 종교적, 국제정치 관계를 포함해 문화적 다원성 등의 복학접인 요인들이 있음을 파악하고, 이를 하나님의 관점에서 어떻게 볼 것인가를 고민해야 할 것이다

영어초록

The Middle East has experienced more confusion and political dynamics over the years since 2011. In addition, the Age of New Cold War in the Middle East from the beginning of 2016 has started from a break in relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, a conflict between sunni and Shi'a, the violence and destruction of the Islamic State, continuous Terrorism in middle East area and the civil wars in Syria, and the civil wars and missile attacks in Yemen and Saudi Arabia, etc. It is very important to find a way to evangelize the gospel and peace towards the Middle East under these situations. Therefore, Christians should continue to look directly at the realities of the Middle East from an external perspective, and try to find ways to heal their pain with the gospel.
The first thing to do is to understand the traditional culture, which is an indicator of the lives of Middle Eastern people. In the Middle East, Islam is the life and philosophy, a code of conduct and a way of life that goes beyond the boundaries of religion. Their traditional culture emphasizes communality and at the same time recognizes the coexistence of various cultures. These people also act to follow culture and tradition, and are dominated by the traditions of the patriarchal society. Of course, it should be noted that their lifestyles were beginning to change with the formation of new cities.
Second, it is necessary to understand the religion of the Middle East. The Middle East Muslim region is not a single community, but rather has a history of diversity in religious and cultural, and conflicts in different nationalities and religions. Of course, it should be understood that the religious conflict in the Middle East was caused not just by religious issues but by political conflicts.
Third, it is to understand the territorial disputes in the Middle East. There are various territorial disputes as well as religious disputes in the Middle East. People in this area have rejected boundaries which are formed by the policies of colonialization of Western powers by linking to the concept of sovereignty. Moreover, this region has had serious conflicts, along with the connection of tribal social identity and resource issues, and has continuously been going civil wars because of tribal and national territory issues with religious conflicts.
Eventually, it is necessary to recognize these situations and precede multiple efforts evangelizing the gospel in the Middle East. First, we need to recognize the spirituality of Islam and apply the gospel accordingly. Next, we should establish missional strategies by using the Shi'a-belt and Sunni-belt of the Middle East. It should also recognize structural changes in Middle Eastern traditions and customs, and make efforts transform the church. In conclusion, we need to understand that evangelization of the Middle East is connected with complex factors such as geopolitical, religious, international politics, and even cultural diversity of the Middle East. Furthermore, we also should concern how these issues should be considered in the eyes of God.
