북한의 민요식 노래와 민족장단 (Study on the Folk Song Styled Songs and the National Rhythmic Patterns In North Korea)

초록

본 논문은 『조선민족음악전집-민요풍의 노래편 1』에 수록된 479곡을 대상으로 북한의 민요식 노래에 적용된 장단 리듬형에 대하여 검토한 글이다.
북한의 민요식 노래에 사용된 장단의 유형을 검토해 본 결과 2소박 계통의 장단 리듬형은 휘모리장단과 안땅장단이며, 두 장단 모두 1970년대 이후 새롭게 부각되어 많이 사용되었다. 3소박 계통의 장단 리듬형은 양산도장단(세마치장단)과 굿거리, 중모리, 중중모리, 자진모리, 타령장단이 민요식 노래에 사용되었고, 도드리장단, 혼소박장단인 엇모리장단이 남한과는 달리 북한에서는 민요식 노래에 꾸준히 적용되어 왔음을 보았다.
다음으로 북한에서 새롭게 만들어서 사용하는 장단형으로 서정장단과 덩덕궁장단,그리고 두 개의 장단을 붙여서 새롭게 만들어 낸 혼합장단형인 안땅․휘모리 혼합장단과 반굿거리․반살풀이 혼합장단이 민요식 노래에 사용되었음을 보았다.
따라서 전통적으로 성악에 많이 적용되었던 장단인 굿거리와 중모리, 중중모리, 자진모리장단 외에 휘모리, 안땅, 세마치와 엇모리, 도드리장단이 부각되었고, 서정장단과 덩덕궁장단 등이 새롭게 만들어져 사용되었음을 알 수 있다.
1960년대까지 사용된 민요식 노래의 장단은 일제강점기의 신민요 장단 리듬형에서 서구식의 리듬형이 제외된 3소박4박자 형태의 장단인 굿거리와 중모리, 중중모리,자진모리장단을 많이 사용하였다. 그러나 주체사상 확립 이후인 1970년대 이후에는이러한 전통장단이 퇴조하면서 신민요에서 많이 사용된 리듬인 왈츠와 같은 느낌의서정장단이나 트로트 리듬과 비슷한 안땅장단이 대거 수용되었으며, 이전에는 잘 사용하지 않던 양산도, 엇모리, 도드리장단과 혼합장단들이 김정일이 좋아하는 “가볍고,섬세하며, 우아하고, 부드러우며, 율동적”인 정서를 대표하면서 민요식 노래에 적용되었음을 확인할 수 있다.

영어초록

This paper is focused on the review of the rhythmic patterns applied to the folk song styled songs in North Korea especially about 479 songs from “The complete series of Choseon national music-Folk song styled songs chapter 1.”After reviewing the national rhythmic patterns used in the folk song styled songs in North Korea, I found that the ‘Two Sobak series’ rhythmic patterns are Whimori rhythmic patterns and Andang rhythmic patterns, both of which emerged after 1970s and became popular in North Korea area.
Through this study I was confirmed that such characteristic folk styled rhythmic patterns as Yangsando rhythm(Semachi rhythm), Gudgeori, Jungmori, Jungjungmori, Jajinmori,Taryeong rhythm, Dodri rhythm and Eonmori rhythm which is the mixed Sobak rhythmic pattern have been steadily applied to folk song styled songs in North Korea unlike in South Korea.
Next, I realized also that those newly created rhythmic patterns in North Korea of Seojeong rhythm, Deongdukkung rhythm, and two mixed rhythm named Andang-Whimori and Bangudgeori-Bansalpuri which were created with the Seojeong rhythm and Deongdukkung rhythm have been used in the folk song styled songs in North Korea.
These facts show that Whimori, Andong, Semachi, Eonmori and Dodri rhythmic patterns as well as those rhythmic patterns of Gudgeori, Jungmori, Jungjungmori and Jajinmori which were traditionally used in vocal music were newly magnified and we can see that Seojeong rhythm and Deongdukkung rhythm were created and used of the music newly.
By the time of 1960s, most of the rhythmic patterns used for national folk styled songs were Gudgeori, Jungmori, Jungjungmori and Jajinmori rhythm, western rhythmic patterns being excluded from New national rhythmic pattern of the Japanese colonial ruled era. In contrast, after 1970s when Juche ideology was established, those traditional rhythm patterns declined, but Seojung rhythm, which has waltz-flavored and was used frequently in Sinminyo, and Andang rhythm, which is similar to trot rhythm, were very popular.
Also, this study checked that Yangsando, Eonmori, Dodri rhythm, which were formerly used rarely, and mixed rhythms were applied to minyosic norae, representing light, delicate,elegant, soft and rhythmic emotions Kim Jeong-il favour.
