영상 문법의 시적 변용 과정에 나타난 인식 변화와 매체론적 의의- 시적 주체의 지각 방식을 중심으로 - (Cognitive Change and Media Ontological Significance in the Process of Poetic Transformation of Visual Grammar - Focusing on How the Perception of the Poetic Subject -)

초록

유하나 장정일 등 8～90년대의 시적 주체들은 주로 영화를 시적 소재로 차용하면서 이를 자기반성과 성찰의 계기로 삼거나 시대와 문명에 대한 풍자의 차원에서 적극적인 사유의 대상으로 삼았다. 하지만 이러한 사정은 2천 년대에 들어서면서 달라진다. 2005년을 전후하여 첫 시집을 낸 시인들 중 일부는 ‘지적 성찰’ 대신 ‘감각적 도약’의 계기로 영상 문법의 상상력을 활용한다. 본고에서는 벤야민의 매체 이론을 근거로 김행숙, 이근화, 이장욱의 시를 분석의 대상으로 삼았다.
먼저 김행숙의 시적 주체는 기본적으로 대상을 ‘아웃포커스’의 방식으로 포착한다. 아웃포커스는 조리개를 넓혀서 찍기 때문에 배경은 흐리게 처리되면서 심도가 얕아지고 피사체만 극적으로 부각된다. 시적 주체는 이런 인식 방법을 자신의 것으로 흡수하여 자신 역시 특정 부위의 감각 기관만 남은 것처럼 ‘감각의 도약’을 펼친다. 여기서 동물적 쾌감이 발생한다.
이근화의 시적 주체는 카메라의 ‘느린 셔터 속도’를 이용하여 대상을 포착한다. 이렇게 하면 시적 주체는 장소의 변동과 시간 경과에 따라 분리된 채로 그 존재성을 드러내던 자신을 동일 시간 같은 장소에 존재하는 것처럼 하나의 긴 선으로 연결할 수 있게 된다. 편재된 ‘나’를 모두 하나로 연결하여 시적 주체의 가능성으로 흡수하는 것이다.
한편 이장욱의 시적 주체는 영화의 ‘슬로우 모션 기법’을 활용하여 자신의 몸을 기계적으로 제어한다. 시적 주체가 자신의 행위를 수만 개의 단위로 촘촘하게 쪼개어 아주 느리고 정교하게 제어하고 있다는 느낌은 그래서 가능해진다. 이는 분명 현실에서는 불가능한 행동이다. 여기서 ‘나른한 아름다움’이 발생한다. 시적 주체는 최대한 느리게, 거의 감지되지 않을 정도의 속도로 자신을 제어하고, 같은 방식으로 이 세계를 미분하여 보여준다.
김행숙이 아웃 포커싱된 피사체의 특징을 더욱 집중 부각시켜 ‘수직적으로 도약’하는 시적 주체의 힘으로 흡수한다면 이근화는 시간과 공간의 차이를 두고 다양하게 편재하는 시적 주체의 형상을 ‘수평 차원의 긴 선으로 연장’하여 시적 주체의 힘을 확장시키고 이장욱은 역시 수평의 차원에서 ‘슬로우 모션’을 도입하여 자기 자신을 극도로 세밀하게 미분하는 방식으로 시적 주체의 힘을 드러낸다. 김행숙의 시에서 격렬한 파토스를 느끼고, 이근화의 시에서는 부드럽고 온화한 감정을, 이장욱의 시에서는 나른한 아름다움을 느낀다면 여기에서 우리는 시적 주체와 영상 문법 간의 관계를 생각해볼 수 있다. 각각의 시적 주체는 영상 문법을 흡수하여 자신만의 방식으로 전유한다.
이 시인들의 작업은, ‘자아에서 주체’로의 변화를 드러내기도 하였지만 어떤 측면에서는 ‘자아에서 더 큰 자아’로 변화를 드러내었다고도 할 수 있다. 김행숙은 도약으로, 이근화는 연장으로, 이장욱은 미분을 통해서 시적 주체의 힘을 더욱 크게 ‘확장’시켰기 때문이다. 이들이 선보인 시적 주체의 확장된 능력은 변화하는 시대의 매체적 특징을 어떤 방식으로 받아들여야 하는지에 대한 하나의 사례로 기록될 수 있을 것이다.

The depth is shallower and highlight important targets. This recognition is subject to express yourself to absorb the force. Thus, 'leap of the sense' occurs. This will cause the animal pleasure.
Poetic subject of Lee geun-hwa captured by the target using the camera's slow shutter speed. This poetic subject can self connected regardless of the place and time. Scattered 'self' are all connected together. Then, it is absorbed into the possibility of the poetic subject. Kim haeng-suk leap 'out focused' destination by highlighting the features of a more vertical, then Lee geun-hwa extend scattered horizontal dimension of self to the long lines. Thus extends the power of the poetic subject. We feel from the poetic subject of Kim haeng-suk intense pathos, the poetic subject of Lee geun-hwa soft and warm. All the poetic subject is the result of absorbing characteristics of the camera's media.
Meanwhile, Poetic subject of Lee jang-uk show 'slow-motion techniques' of the film. He should control his own body as mechanical. Poetic subject, in their tens of thousands of acts of dense slice.
