치유로서의 문곡 유배시 연구 (Research of Mun-Gok' Exile Poetry as Healing)

초록

본 논문에서는 조선 숙종조의 文谷 金壽恒(1629～1689)의 유배시를 문학치료적 관점으로 고구하고자 한다. 우리나라에서 본격적 문학치료의 연구사는 타 연구 분야에 비해 비교적 짧은 편이다. 더구나 고전문학 분야에서 문학치료를 방법론으로 한 연구축적물 또한 온축된 결과가 아직은 방대하지 않은 실정이다.
본고의 목적은 김수항이 유배생활 중 지었던 시작품을 대상으로 그의 시세계를 탐색함과 더불어 고전문학 연구에 있어서 문학치료학적 접근의 가능성과 효과를 타진하는 계기를 삼고자 함이다. 따라서 본고에서는 김수항이 귀양이라는 정치적 위난과 고통 속에서 작시한 유배시가 어떠한 치유의 과정을 거치는가 하는 것을 논점으로 연구를 전개하고자 했다.
김수항은 정치적 격변 속에서 예기치 않던 유배생활을 하면서 겪은 심리적 외상을 시를 통해 드러내고 있었으며, 고뇌를 시 속에 표출하면서 현실을 수용하며 아픔을 해소하고 있었고, 나아가 달관하고 초월하면서 정서적인 안정을 회복해 나가는 과정을 형상화하고 있었다.
김수항의 유배시를 통해서 시 속에 노정된 유배객의 고충, 수용과 카타르시스, 치유와 정서적 회복 등을 읽을 수 있었다. 또한 유배라는 정치적 좌절과 고통스런 경험을 시로 옮기면서 심리적 외상을 드러내며 갈등을 해소해 나가는 치유의 과정을 통해 작가의 삶의 폭과 깊이가 더해 감을 알 수 있었다.
우리의 고전문학을 이해하고 연구하는 데 있어서 문학치료적 방법론을 보다 심화시켜 나가고 박차를 가하게 될 때 연구의 지평이 더욱 넓어질 수 있다고 생각한다.

영어초록

This study conducted a literature research focused on the exile poetry of Mun-gok Kim Su-hyang(1629-1689), one of the government officials to King Suk-jong of The Joseon Era, as viewpoint of literary therapy.
In that era the political situation was under extreme political impasse with party strife between Seo-in and Nam-in caused by twice Ritual Controversy in Joseon.
Kim Su-hyang was the person who took on state affairs in this political crisis. He experienced honor and disgrace with alternating periods of exile and freedom eventually suffering misfortune concluded in exile. He learned the truth of Faction Politics.
His poetry, written in the time of heavy workload and turbulence, has been recorded at The 28th Collection of Mungok poetry.
While considering Mun-gok Kim Su-hyang's exile poetry as viewpoint of literary therapy, this study attempted to develop the issue of how Mun-gok Kim Su-hyang's poetry written in exile served as part of his healing process.
Through the literature material review, a structured process that exposes the anguish of a writer, the achievement of spiritual healing and sublimating affliction was glaringly obvious in Mun-Gok Kim Su-hyang's exile poetryKim Su-hyang, who had a pivotal role in the political world as a center of power, unexpectedly had to go into exile, but that was the motivation to reflect on his life with the material poetry reflecting his spirits, it became the way to treatment relieving psychological trauma as well.
A variety of experiences including mental trauma and healing during exile added depth to his literature.
Viewed in a basic function of literature, healing the human souls and mentality, exile literature is an especially sought treatment to relieve psychological trauma by expressing in writing, which enables the easing of tension and emotions to complete recovery.
Moreover, in Kim Su-hyang's exile poetry, at the level of the literary therapy, it can be seen that he took the process that leads to the proactive attitude to repair trauma and overcome the anguished exile life rather than the passive attitude when reading books.
Among the various ways to study classic literature, researchers are becoming more focused on this viewpoint of literary therapy. Thus the exile poetry of Mun-gok Kim Su-hyang was considered with the same purpose.
As the writer of this paper, this study is the touchstone of new methodologies and standards of diversity in the exploration of Korea' Chinese literature study in Korea.
