김춘수 시 「유월에」의 반복성 고찰 (A Study of the repeatability in Kim Chun-soo's poem 「In June」)

초록

본고는 김춘수의 꽃에 관한 시 중 「유월에」에 나타난 반복의 다양한 양태, 즉반복성을 고찰한다.「유월에」의 특징인 반복성은 시의 구조적 측면의 반복과 정신분석학에 기반한 반복이다. 이들을 분석한 본고의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 「유월에」는 구조의 미학성이 돋보이는 작품이며, 시구와 이미지의 확산 병렬적 반복을 통해 자유시의 리듬을 형성한다. 매개 행위(‘빈 꽃병에 꽃을 꽂다’)를 중심으로 밝음 이미지와 어둠 이미지가 반복되어 시적 리듬의 주류를 이룬다. 매개행위를 포함시켜 보다 큰 단위로 볼 때, 밝음과 어둠의 분위기가 교차하면서 반복된다. 특히 밝음 단위들에서는 반복의 차이가 명확하다. 반복은 병렬을 통해 시의 의미를 구조화하는 역동적인 생성 원리로서의 기능을 담당한다. 둘째, 「유월에」는 라캉의 욕망 개념에서의 반복을 내포하고 있다. “빈 꽃병”이 아내의 주체적 결여이며, “실내”를 가득 채우고 오래도록 아내의 표정을 밝게 할 수 있으리라는 “꽃”은 환상 대상이며 이를 좇아서 욕망이 작동되고 있다. 만족될 듯한 아내의 욕망은 채워지지 않고 다른 대상을 향하여 라캉적 환유의 반복을 계속 시도한다. 이러한 욕망에서의 반복이 차이를 동반함으로써 들뢰즈가 해석한 니체의 영원회귀 개념을 함축한다. 마지막으로 「유월에」는 정신분석학의 죽음충동에 근거한 반복강박의 한 양상이다. “벽인지 감옥의 창살인지 혹은 죽음인지 그러한 어둠”이라는 구절은 김춘수의 전기적 사실, 즉 일본 헌병대와 경찰서에 이유 없이 감금되면서 경험한 트라우마와 관련이 있다. 트라우마를 겪은 사람들에게서 나타날 수 있는 반복강박의 재연은 고통 속 쾌락, 즉 라캉의 주이상스 개념과 연결된다. 김춘수는 이 트라우마를 평생에 걸쳐 산문이나 시에 강박적으로 반복하였으며, 「유월에」도 그러한 양상의 하나이다.

영어초록

In this paper, we would like to explore the repeatability, effect, and significance of Kim Chun-soo's flower 「in June」. In 『the rough sketch of poems』 (1959), 「in June」 is arranged as the first work, but it has been relatively neglected compared to other works. The characteristic of this poem is repeatability and appears in two aspects. Repetition in the structural aspect of poetry is a repetition based on scientific psychoanalysis. The results of this paper that analyzed them are as follows. First, 「in June」 is a work that stands out for the aesthetics of the structure, and specifically, it forms a rhythm through parallel repetition of the spread of the first pitch and image. It was confirmed that the brightness series, which is a positive image, and the darkness series, which is a negative image, are repeating, centering on the mediating behavior (‘put flowers in an empty vase’), forming the mainstream of poetic rhythm. When considering the structure of the brightness/darkness unit including the mediating behavior, the atmosphere of brightness and darkness is also intersected and repeated, and the difference in repetition is clear, especially in brightness units. In other words, this repetition plays a role as a dynamic generation principle that structures the meaning of poetry through parallelism between variation and deformation. Second, it implies repetition in terms of desire, which is the driving force of human existence. In the poem 「in June」, Lacan's concept of psychoanalytic desire is well revealed. The "empty vase" symbolizes the wife's lack of subjectivity, and the "flower" symbolizes the fantasy object a. It is an illusion to be able to satisfy his wife for a long time by filling the "room," and the desire was working by following this fantasy. The wife's desire to be satisfied is not satisfied, but continues to try to repeat the exchange rate toward other objects. Repetition in this desire is accompanied by differences, suggesting Nietzsche's concept of eternal return. Finally, 「in June」 is an aspect of repetition compulsion based on death drive. The first pitch, "Wall, prison bars, or death, such darkness," is related to Kim Chun-soo's biography, that is, the trauma experienced by Japanese military police and police stations for no reason. I was able to read 「in June」 the repetition compulsion that could appear in people who suffered painful trauma. Kim Chun-soo obsessively repeated this trauma throughout his life in prose and poetry, and 「in June」 is one aspect.
