프로스트의 초기 시와 소통의 시학 (The Poetics of Communication in the Early Poetry of Robert Frost’s)

초록

The aim of this paper is to suggest that communication, one of the major themes of Robert Frost’s, is directly related with his poetics in his early poetry. Frost reveals his primary concern on the necessity of establishing human relationship with his neighbors and readers. He sometimes shows that his poetic creation is the record of the description of the processes of rapport with other beings. Although it is true that Frost is reticent in his description of love in his love poems, conjugal intimacy between a couple is strongly felt by the readers. Moreover, Frost displays that the experience of sharing love between a couple is similar to “putting in the seed” in that both can create new life. He again suggests to his readers that the poetic creation and the human activities, human insemination and planting seeds, are analogous. Furthermore, Frost shows that the reciprocity between a couple can help transcend the human boundary and that the spiritual communion between human beings and the natural world is possible.
