초록

이 논문은 윤중호가 텍스트 안에서 호명한 다양한 인물들의 특성을 구명한 것이다. 텍스트 내에서 세계를 목도하고 진술하는 주체는 화자이지만 서사를 형성하는 주체는 인물인 경우가 대부분이다. 그러므로 인물은 작가의 세계관을 가늠할 수 있는 중요한 미학적 장치이다. 본고의 논의의 전제는 개성론에 있다. 작가와 화자를 일치한 인물로 간주하고 서사를 형성하는 인물의 양상을 살펴보려는 것이다. 그 과정에서 자연스럽게 인물의 형상화에 투영된 윤중호의 시적 개성도 발견할 수 있을 것이기 때문이다.
윤중호의 텍스트에서 가족 구성원으로서의 아버지나 아버지의 가계에 대한 서사는 잘 드러나지 않는다. 윤중호에게 아버지는 생물학적으로는 존재하였을지 모르지만 정서적으로는 부재하는 대상이다. 윤중호에게 아버지의 부재는 고통에 대한 전략이 없다는 의미로 수용된다. 어머니는 부재하는 아버지를 대신하여 윤중호에게 고통에 대한 전략을 일러주는 역할을 수행한다. 윤중호는 어머니에 대한 기억을 매우 빈번하고 또 자세하게 형상화한다. 그만큼 윤중호에게 어머니는 정신적 지표이며 삶의 방향이자 목적이다. 외할머니도 윤중호에게 안식을 제공한다는 점에서 어머니와 같은 위치에 있다.
윤중호의 시적 서사를 가장 풍성하게 직조하는 이들은 윤중호의 방인(傍人)이다. 사회적 약자인 방인을 은유하는 대표적인 사물은 질경이이다. 이 방인들의 장소는 대개 서울의 변두리나 폐허가 된 고향이다. 윤중호는 질경이와 같은 방인들의 삶을 묘사할 때 빈곤을 전면화하지 않는다. 대신 생의 질곡을 함께 견뎌내는 사람들의 모습을 인간애적 시선으로 보여준다. 동정과 연민을 넘어서는 공감과 이해의 태도는 윤중호의 텍스트가 감상적(感傷的) 정조로 훼손되는 것을 막는 중요한 장치이다.
윤중호가 호명하는 인물과 그들의 서사는 윤중호의 삶과 분리되지 않는다. 가족을 호명하고 그들의 삶을 형상화하는 경우에도 윤중호는 미적 거리의 조정에 실패하지 않는다. 이것이 인물의 서사에 충분히 공감하고 이해하고 있으면서도 인물과 인물의 서사를 감상(感傷)에 빠지지 않도록 제어하는 원동력이다. 이는 가족 서사뿐만 아니라 방인의 서사를 형상화하는 데에도 적용되는 특성이자 장점이다. 이미지 또한 애상의 정조를 제어하며 미적 거리의 형성에 적극적으로 활용된다. 지명의 활용, 방언의 사용뿐만 아니라 빈번하지는 않지만 대화체의 활용 등도 윤중호가 인물의 특성을 핍진성 있게 형상화하는 데 사용한 중요한 시적 장치들이다.

영어초록

This paper explores the characteristics of various characters called by Yun Jung-ho in the text. In the most of the poems, the subject who sees and states the world in the text is the speaker, but the subject that forms the narrative is a character. The premise of this paper's discussion lies in the theory of individuality. The writer and the speaker are regarded as consistent characters, and the writer-speaker is to examine the subject of the narrative, that is, the character that forms the narrative. In the process, we will also be able to find Yun Jung-ho's poetic personality, which is naturally projected on the image of the character.
In Yun Jung-ho's text, the narrative of the father or father's living as a family member is not well revealed. For Yun Jung-ho, the father may have existed biologically, but he is emotionally absent. For Yun Jung-ho, his father's absence is accepted as meaning that he has no strategy for pain. His mother plays a role in teaching Yun Jung-ho a strategy for pain on behalf of his absent father. Yun Jung-ho embodies the memory of his mother very frequently and in detail. As such, for Yun Jung-ho, the mother is a mental indicator, a direction and purpose of life. The maternal grandmother is also in the same position as her mother in that she provides rest to Yun Jung ho.
Those who weave Yun Jung-ho's poetic narrative the most abundantly are people around Yun Jung-ho. The representative object that metaphorizes people who are socially weak is plantain. These people's places are usually on the outskirts of Seoul or their ruined hometowns. Yun Jung-ho does not totalize poverty when describing the lives of the people like plantain. Instead, it shows people who endure the hardships of life together with a humane perspective. The attitude of empathy and understanding beyond compassion and sympathy is an important device to prevent Yun Jung-ho's text from being damaged by sentiment of agony.
The characters called by Yun Jung-ho and their narratives are not separated from Yun Jung-ho's life. Even when calling his family and embodying their lives, Yun Jung-ho does not fail to adjust the aesthetic distance. This is the driving force that fully sympathizes with and understands the narrative between characters so that it does not fall into appreciation. This is a characteristics and advantage applied not only to family narratives but to embody the narrative of the people around him. Images also control the sentiment of mourning and are actively used to form aesthetic distances. The use of geographical names and dialects, as well as the dialogues that are used sometimes, are important poetic devices that Yun Jung-ho used to shape the character's characteristics verisimilitudely.
