소월 시 화법 연구 (Study of Sowol’s Narration)

초록

소월 시는 길지 않은 한국현대시사에서 정전의 위상에 올라 있다. 이러한 위상에 걸맞게 소월 시 연구는 시의 발표 시점인 일제 강점기부터 최근까지 다양한 관점에 의해 축적되고 있다. 오히려 현 시점에서소월 시에 대한 이러저러한 가치평가와 이해 방법을 개진하는 일은 동어반복일 가능성이 높다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이 논문에서 해명하려고 하는문제는 여전히 소월 시를 구전시나 민요시의 테두리 안에서 보려고 하는평단과 일반 독자들의 경향성이다. 이러한 일상적인 평가와 근대라는 새로운 시간의 세례를 받으며 성장한 최초의 시인이 문학사에 대해 갖는 영향력은 정합적이지 않다. 오히려 문체와 화법적인 측면에서 소월 시가 의존하고 있는 창작방법론의 바탕은 문자문화이다. 소월 시는 문자문화가성숙한 시기에서만 가능한 상황의존적인 구술성을 문면에 옮기고 있다.
문자의 적극적 전파와 사용을 근대 형성의 동력으로 간주하는 매체론의관점에서 보면 이러한 현상은 형식으로서의 근대성을 특수한 맥락으로 선취하고 있는 것이다.
이를 논증하기 위해서 이 논문에서는 첫째, 소월 시의 작시 계기인 님의부재와 이로부터 발생하는 고통을 매체적으로 처리하는 방법을 밝히고둘째, 소월 시에 자주 쓰이는 직시어와 화법과의 관계를 살펴보고 셋째, 문자문화 내부에서의 비상황의존적 구술성의 도입이 갖는 특수한 화법의위상을 규정하고, 종합적으로 소월 시의 화법이 ‘문자적 직접화법’에 의해진술되고 있음을 논증하려고 한다. 이 논문은 소월 시의 숨겨진 주제를탐색하기보다는 이 주제가 표현되는 메타적인 소통 방법을 밝히는 것이목적이다. 그 소통의 물질적인 매체는 문자가 될 것이고 그 매체를 통해서 연결되는 주체와 타자, 시인과 독자의 관계는 화법이 될 것이다.

영어초록

Sowol’s poetry has been raised to a position of canon in the history of modern Korean poetry, which is not long. In keeping with this position, studies of Sowol’s poetry have been accumulated from the Japanese colonial era, the time of publication of the poems till quite recently, by a variety of perspectives. Rather, at this point of time, various evaluations and statements of methods of understanding Sowol’s poetry are likely to be tautological. Nevertheless, the problem that this study tries to explain is the tendency of critics and general readers, who still try to see Sowol poetry in the outline of orally transmitted poems or ballads. The influence of the first poet who grew receiving such a routine evaluation and the baptism of a new time of the modern era on literature is not consistent. Rather, in terms of writing style and narration, the base of the methodology of writing poems that Sowol’s poetry depends on is literate culture. Sowol’s poetry puts the context-dependent oral historicity which is possible only in mature literate culture onto the text. This phenomenon seems to preempt modernity as a form in a special context if measured from the perspective of media theory that identifies the formation of the modern era with the period of active propagation and use of character.
In order to explain this, this study will first, identify the method of addressing the absence of the lover and pain arising from that by medium, the opportunity of versification in Sowol’s poetry; second, examine the relationship between deixis, which is often used in Sowol’s poetry and narration; and third, define the status of special narration of the introduction of non-context-dependent oral historicity in the literate culture, and argue that the narration of Sowol’s poetry is comprehensively stated by ‘literal direct narration.’ This study aims to identify a way of meta-communication that expresses this theme, rather than exploring the hidden theme of Sowol’s poetry. Characters will be the physical medium of communication, and styles of narration will be the relationship between subject and other, and the relationship between poet and reader, connected through the medium.
