    초록

    The purpose of the study is to show the practical use of skiing to promote people’s health and healthy activities. The study shows research and proof of change in ski club member’s body composition, basic physical strength, aerobic power and knee joint muscular functions.
    The people who took part in the research were ski club members with 3-6years skiing experience. They were healthy, and aged between late 20’s and early 30’s. At the time of the research project, the members were living at P ski resort, located in Kangwon-Do, skiing everyday.
    Body composition tests included weight, soft lean mass, fat mass, body fat percentage and fat distribution using Inbody 3.0(Biospace, Korea). Aerobic power tests included HRmax, V·O_2mazx and VEmax using the SensorMedics Vmax29(Sensormedics, U.S.A). Isokinetic knee joint muscular functions was tested using peak torque and total work using Biodex system3(Biodex, U.S.A.). The conclusion I draw is as follows :1. The variation in body composition increased slightly, except for fat distribution, however the weights increased by as much as the standard index. (p<.05)2. The variation in basic fitness condition were slightly increased, however the balance test which involves closing both eyes and standing on one foot, the flexibility test which involves leaning backwards, and the power test which involves standing and then jumping as high as possible, by as much as the standard index. (p<.05)3. The variation in aerobic power ability decreased in the HRmax rate. The VEmax rate increased by an amount similar to the standard index, however the V·O_2max increased by as much as the standard index.(p<.05)4. the peak torque for isokinetic knee joint muscular function increased by as much as the standard index in the left and right extensor muscle, however the flexor muscle didn’t increased by much as the standard index in left or right.
    5. Total work increased by as much as the standard index in all variables, however almost all extensor muscles ability increased by more than the change in flexor muscle ability.
