아니쉬 카푸어 과정미술 작품을 통한 상호성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Reciprocity through artpieces of Anish Kapoor’s Process Art)

초록

(연구배경 및 목적) 조각이라는 미술작품은 시간과 장소에 대한 인간의 반응과 그 관계와 경험의 중요성을 새롭게 인식하게되고 관객들의 적극적인 참여를 통해 감상의 이분법에서 탈피하게 된다. 감각적인 지각에 따른 공간에 대한 경험적인 체험은 일방적인 미술작품 전달 방식의 감상에서 벗어나 관객과 작품 감상 상호작용을 할 수 있는 체험적 공간을 창출한다. 정해진 규칙이있는 것도 아니고 미술작품 혹은 공간에 무한한 가능성과 다양성을 부여하여 상호작용을 이끌어낸다. 본 연구의 목적은 결과 중심의 작품을 감상해야 하는 일반적인 소통이 아닌 작품의 과정을 작가와 관람자가 적극적인 개입의 작품인 아니쉬 카푸어의 작품을 분석 하여 예술과 삶이 소통하는 방법을 찾기 위함이다. (연구방법) 첫째, 자가생성의 개념을 파악하여 아니쉬 카푸어의 작품에서의 연관성을 연구한다. 둘째, 과정미술의 이론적 배경에서의 초현실주의 영향에 대한 분석한다. 셋째, 아니쉬 카푸어의 작품에 영향을 끼친 사물의 본질을 중요시한 미니멀리즘과 포스트미니멀리즘 시간성이 개입되고 관람자의 상호적인 작용인 경험적, 시간적, 공간적 개념을 도출 한다. 넷째, 아니쉬 카푸어의 작품을 분석하여 작품 속에서 관람객과의 상호성에 대해 연구하여예술과 삶의 소통을 방법을 알아본다. (결과) 이에 본 연구는 아니쉬 카푸어의 작품을 분석하면서 얻은 결과로 관람객의 적극적인 개입은 예술이 일상화되고, 공공미술이라는 또 다른 장르의 작품들을 감상 할 수 있다. 상호작용은 감각의 경험이다. 지각은감각, 기억, 사고를 포함하고 인식 확인과 같은 의미로 귀결되는 심리적 과정이다. 경험은 작가나 작품을‘이해 ’보다 도 더 중요하다. 과정을 함께 하는 것이 소통과 만족을 이루어 내고, 활력과 생명을 재생 시키게 되어 함께 호흡 할 수 있도록 한다. (결론) 아니쉬 카푸어 작품은 일방적으로 전달하는 감상법이 아니고, 소통하고 공유하고 관람객들과의 적극적인 개입이 상호작용으로 다양한 의미로써 확장되어지고 있다. 아니쉬 카푸어 작품이 왜 대중들에게 공전의 성공을 거두게 되며 우리가 그의 작품에 몰입되고 열광하는지를 알 수 있다. 아니쉬 카푸어의 작품 앞에서 대중의 일상적인 삶을 반추하고 잃어버린 상실에 대한 숭고한 감성과 감동은 마음을 치유하고 사색하게 될 것이며 마음의 먼지를 닦아내듯 정화하는 시간이 될 것이다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) A piece of art, such as a sculpture, allows awareness of the human response to its time and location and of the importance of its relationship and experience. Thus, art sheds the dichotomy of appreciation through the active engagement of viewers. An empirical experience of space according to sensual perception allows escape from the one-way delivery method of artwork and leads to the creation of experiential space in which the viewer interacts with the artwork. This study aimed to analyze Anish Kapoor’s artwork, which requires the active involvement of the artist and the viewer. This active involvement is unlike the case in general communication of artwork appreciation that focuses solely on the resulting piece. Through the analysis of Kapoor’s artwork, the ways in which art and life communicate can be identified. Moreover, Kapoor’s ways to create interactive exhibitions by creating new narratives were examined. (Method) First, the connection among Kapoor’s body of artwork is studied by examining the concept of self-generation. Second, the influence of surrealism as the theoretical background of process art is analyzed. Third, minimalism, the concept the emphasized the nature of the object, and post-minimalism both influence Kapoor’s artwork. Temporality is involved, and the empirical, time-based, spatial concept is drawn out. Lastly, through evaluating Kapoor’s artwork, the reciprocality with the viewer will be studied to identify the communication method between art and life. (Results) The viewer’s active engagement becomes art routinization, through which art pieces from the genre of public art are appreciated. An interaction is a sensory experience. Perception includes sensory, memory, and thinking, and it is a psychological process that results in the same meaning of confirmation of cognition. Experience is more important than the “understanding” of an artist or artwork. The viewer and the artist undergoing the process together leads to interaction and satisfaction so that vitality and life are revived to keep in tune together. (Conclusions) The appreciation of Kapoor’s artwork is not a one-sided delivery but rather expands to communication and sharing with the viewer; that is, active interaction. Thus, the reason for the success of Kapoor’s artwork and for viewers’ enthusiasm over his artwork can be realized. In front of Kapoor’s art pieces, the viewers ruminate their ordinary life, cure their mind, and meditate through a noble sensitivity and touch towards the loss, and have the time to clear the dust from their mind.
