사용자 참여디자인 방법을 통한 미술수업 방안 연구 - 학교 숲 조성 사례를 중심으로 - (A Study on Art Class Plan through User Participation Design Method - focused on the case of school forest creation -)

초록

본 연구는 학교 공간 중 운동장 주변 자투리 공간을 활용하여 학교 숲을 조성하는 방법으로서 초등학생이 참여하는 사용자 참여디자인으로 미술수업을 전개하는 방안을 연구하는데 있다. 아울러 초등학교의 학교 숲 조성의필요성 및 지역의 특징에 대한 이해 수업을 시작으로 직접 디자인하는 과정까지의 미술수업을 진행하면서 초등학생들의 의견이 충분히 반영된 학교공간을 만드는 가능성을 여는데 있다.
연구 방법으로는 첫째, 사용자 참여디자인과 학교 숲 조성의 실제 사례들을 살펴보는 선행연구를 통해 초등학생대상 사용자 참여디자인 과정을 도출한다. 둘째, 학교 숲 조성 사용자 참여디자인을 적용한 미술수업 과정 모델을 제시한다. 셋째, 학교 숲에 대한 이해도를 설문조사와 집단 심층 면담을 통해 초등학생 참여디자인 도입에따른 효과성을 검증한다. 마지막으로 미술수업을 적용한 참여디자인을 통해 지역사회에서 차지하는 공간 의미를 이해하고 활용방안을 제시한다. 전문가 중심의 설계와 사용자 중심의 설계가 도달하는 목표가 다르다는 것을전제로, 결과물보다는 참여디자인 과정에 의미를 두고 있으며 지역 사회를 구성하는 공동체의 일원으로 초등학생의 참여 가능성을 기대하며 진행한 본 연구의 의의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학교 운동장에 조성되는 학교 숲의실제 사용자인 초등학생의 요구를 효과적으로 반영할 수 있는 참여디자인 과정을 도출하였다. 둘째, 참여디자인과정을 실제 대상지에 적용하여 초등학생이 함께 작업을 진행하여 미술수업의 과정 모델을 통해 공간을 구성하였다. 셋째, 초등학생 스스로 배움과 삶이 어우러진 계획적인 삶의 공간을 만드는 과정에서 지역사회에서 차지하는 공간의 역할을 이해하는 계기를 마련하였다는데 있다. 본 연구는 참여 대상이 소수로 일반화시키기에는 한계가 있을 수 있다. 특히, 사용자 참여디자인은 학년 단계별 학생 군, 확대된 참여자, 학교별 지역 특성, 예산, 사업 목적 등에 따라 진행과정과 결과가 달라지기 때문에 다양한 사례를 연구하는 것이 필요하다는 것을 염두에 두어야 한다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to develop an art class with a user participation design for elementary school students as a way to create a school forest by using the space around the playground. In addition, it is opening up the possibility of creating a school space that fully reflects the opinions of elementary school students by conducting art classes from the lessons on designing the necessity of creating a school forest in elementary school and the process of designing it directly. As a research method, first, we derive the user participation design process for elementary school students through the preceding research that examines actual cases of user participation design and school forest creation. Second, the art class process model applying the design of participation of the user to school forest creation is suggested. Third, the effectiveness of the introduction of elementary school student participation design is verified through surveys and in-depth interviews on the understanding of the school forest. Lastly, through participation design applying art class, we understand the meaning of space occupied in the community and suggest how to use it.
This study, which is focused on the participatory design process rather than the result, and expects the possibility of elementary school students' participation as a member of the community, assuming that the goal of professional and user-oriented design is different. It is as follows. First, a participatory design process was developed to effectively reflect the needs of elementary school students, who are the actual users of the school forest on the school grounds.
Second, elementary school students worked together by applying the participatory design process to the actual target sites to construct a space through the process model of the art class. Third, elementary school students prepared an opportunity to understand the role of space in the community in the process of creating a planned life space where learning and life are combined.
This study may be limited to generalizing to a small number of participants. In particular, it is important to keep in mind that the user participation design needs to study various cases because the progress and results vary depending on the student group at each grade level, expanded participants, regional characteristics of each school, budget, and business purpose.
