초록

"The leaf" was announced in April, 1934 by a collection of of magazine "Ban" first. It is a work placed in the first page of "Bannen" that are a collection of novels of the beginning at the age of 27years old of Osamu Dazai afterwards. "The leaf" makes it in one epigraph and 36 chapters with a work placed in the first page of "Bannen". This is because it is at the writer-like starting point of Osamu Dazai without it is a chance to reveal an achievement of dark youth of Osamu Dazai through "The leaf"that "The leaf"became the first page of "Bannen", and it being.
It is life awareness of Osamu Dazai to understand through "The leaf". The one is minus-like life awareness, one more plus-like life consciousness. Minus-like life awareness flows through the whole of the work. However, it was affirmative consciousness for the life to be stupid that the life awareness of Osamu Dazai died after all. And it was the will that was going to write a good work that Osamu Dazai deeply attached till the last.
