초록

This paper aims to explain the history and activities of the Korean religions in Japan, and to anticipate their future. After the annexation of Korea by Japan, Japanese religions almost one-wayly spreaded from Japan to Korea. Even after the independence of Korea, the one-way spread was continued up until the 1980s because of the Japanese economic power. In Japan, most of the Korean religions, except Unification Church, propagated only Koreans until then.
When the economic gap between South Korea and Japan reduced and a cultural exchange became active in the 1990's, however, there was a big change. The activities of Korean religions to propagate in Japanese society increased greatly. Korean religion churches and chapels appeared in most Japanese cities from small size or medium size cities such as Sapporo in Hokkaido and Naha in Okinawa to big cities such as Tokyo and Osaka.
Not long before South Korea Protestant Churches started to consider the Japanese society as a target of their propagation and to dispatch a lot of propagator to Japan. Before the 1990's they propagated the Korean Japanese. Yet they gradually expanded missionary wort to the Japanese in the 1990's. However, it is expected that the Koran propagation would conflict with Japanese culture. More systemic studies focused on these cultural conflicts are necessary.
