초록

The city where we live is developed by various endeavors and cooperation in long history, and the architecture alsohas the characteristics of the period and has become the basis of life and memories for people. Architecture is not a stationaryfinished product at some point. It is necessary to use history as a medium for understanding, connecting the present and thefuture, and communicating through the architecture of the past. As interest in the social role of architecture increases, socialdesire demands intrinsic value. It is related to the renovation of modern architecture into a cultural space in that the spatialtheory of French sociologist Henry Lefebvre focuses on the relationship between time and space, conceptualizing social spaceand dealing with the middle layer and complexity of space. The necessity of the representational space lies in the modernarchitecture preserved to the present day, having new images and symbols, and becoming a cultural space distinguished fromsimple physical space. This suggests that in the future when modern Korean buildings are renovated into cultural spaces, theymust be planned in consideration of the representational space to become a more successful cultural space.
