디자인사고에서 팀 구성의 중요성이 강조되어 왔음에도 팀 구성을 위한 디자인 사고 속성에 대한 연구나 속성을 평가하는 방법에 대한 연구는 미흡하다. 본 연구는 디자인사고의 마인드셋(mindset) 평가의 방향을 제시하기 위하여 첫 번째로 선행연구 분석, 전문가 인터뷰, 대학생 설문조사를 통하여 디자인사고의 속성을 분석하고 대표적 마인드셋 다섯 가지를 다음과 같이 도출하였다: 공감능력(empathy), 협동심(collaboration), 실험정신(experimentation), 통합사고력(integrative thinking), 열린 사고(open mind). 두 번째로, 도출된 마인드셋의 정의와 사고구조, 디자인사고의 관계성을 분석하여 각각의 평가방향을 제시하였다. 공감능력 평가에서는 인지적 공감능력과 감정적 공감능력에 대한 평가도 포함되어야 하며 협동심 평가에서는 응낙(conformation), 팀워크의 속성을 가지고 있는지 여부를 함께 평가하여야 한다. 실험정신 평가에서는 시도(try-out)의 속성과 새로운 시도시의 마음가짐(호기심, 열정, 그리고 새로운 시도를 환영할 수 있는 마음가짐)도 평가되어야 한다. 통합적 사고 평가에서는 모호성을 받아들일 수 있는 능력(ability to embrace ambiguity), 종합할 수 있는 능력(ability to synthesize), 시스템 사고능력(ability to think systematically)의 평가가 포함되어야 하며 열린 사고 평가에는 적응프로세스(accommodation process) Stephanie Vozza, https://www.fastcompany.com/40494077, 2017.

영어초록

Design Thinking is a team activity by people from diverse backgrounds. Tim Brown emphasized t-shaped talent, David kelly stressed the importance of multidisciplinary teams in design thinking, and Tom kelly noted that innovation is ultimately team sports. The importance of team composition has been emphasized but the study of design thinking attribute and method for evaluating attributes for the team composition has been insufficient. The first part of this study derived 5 required mindsets for design thinking by analyzing the nature of design thinking through previous studies, expert interviews, and university student surveys. Those 5 mindsets are empathy, collaboration, experimentation, integrated thinking, and open mind in order of importance. The second part of this study suggested evaluation guideline for each mindset through studying definition of each term, term structure and relationship to design thinking. Empathy assessment should include evaluating cognitive empathy and emotional empathy. Collaboration evaluation should include assessing attributes of conformation and teamwork. In order to evaluate spirit of the experiment, nature of the try-out and the attitudes of curiosity, enthusiasm, and welcome-mind must be evaluated. Evaluation of integrative thinking should include assessment of the ability to embrace ambiguity, the ability to synthesize, and the ability to think systematically. Open mind evaluation should include attributes of the accommodation process.
