    초록

    The underwater investigations into Goryeo’s Ships have been going on in the Taean sea area since 2006. After starting of the investigations into the Taean ship, the years of the sinking of the Goryeo’s ships, such as the Mado ships No.1, No.2, No.3, were almost confirmed so that their relics were found to date back to the time of the Goryeo’s military regime. However, there have been conflicting opinions over the chronicles of the celadons found in the Taean ship, so that the gap of their estimated years of the sinking of the Taean ship could be as big as one century. In the case of the Mado ship No.3, they said the year could be somewhere between 1265 and 1268.
    I, the author, had suggested before that the sinking of the Taean ship could be possibly related with the Gulpo canalization in 1132 (the year 12 of King Injong in the Goryeo Dynasty). Later, Lim Gyeonghui announced that some letters on the wooden bathtub, found in the Taean ship, was deciphered to be either ‘Sinhae (辛亥)’ or ‘Sinmi (辛未).’ Sinhae is 1131 (the year 9 of King Injong) and Sinmi is 1151 (the year 5 of King Uijong). If it is ‘Sinhae’, it means three years before the Gulpo canalization. Then a hypothesis can be made that the accident of the Taean ship called for some countermeasures and finally resulted in the canalization in 1234. If the hypothesis is true, the year of the sinking of the Taean ship could be 1121 (the year 9 of King Injong).
    The year of the sinking of the Mado ship No.3 was confirmed somewhere between 1265 and 1268 by Lim Gyeonghui. This study examined Yoo Cheon Woo’s tenure of office and it stressed that the time is highly likely to be the year of 1265. In conclusion, the study suggests that the year of the sinking of the Taean ship would be 1121 (the year 9 of King Injong) and the Mado ship No. 3, 1265. Since the year of the cargo loading would probably be the same as the year of the sinking, the years related to the loading would naturally be the years of the sinking of the ships.
