中國 古代敍事에서의 幻想性 探索 ― 生死學的 관점에서 (A Study of Fantasy in Ancient Chinese Narrative)

초록

In this paper, I investigate what kind of fantasy exist in the ancient Chinese narratives based on the codes of life and death, common interests of all mankind and also consider social and cultural meanings beyond the characters. The research on the characteristics derived from fantasy narratives about the mortal, immortal and transcendental beings based on the discourse of death as important as the attachment to life provides the clues for finding self-identity in the contemporary society symbolized by alienation of human beings.
I examined the reason why we fail to notice the real meanings of oriental fantasy literary works, caught the messages of fantasy inherent in them, and took look at the psychological archetype how we have to accept them at this digital age in which we digitize every seconds. In this research, it is possible to present the extended understanding of reality and offer the direction of life in which we can look back upon the past, enjoy the present and make our way to the future.
As a result, the analysis on the stories of the love between humans and God, the love between humans and demons, the eternal youth and aspiration of the surreal world lead to the following conclusions.
Fantasy is not a resistance against realistic order, but a pathway between the center and borders which fills up the realistic non existence with psychological realistics. Fantasy awakens the self-identity of human beings with familiarity and unfamiliarity completing the whole with overlap and seperation. Fantasy in which the impossible dreams came true made it possible for men to become ideal beings by rising above the imperfect ego.
