대학생 창의역량 함양을 위한 수업 사례 및 개선 방향 (An instruction case and improvement of the course for enhancing creativity in Higher Education)

초록

이 논문의 연구목적은 창의성 함양을 위해 개설한 교과목의 운영 사례 및 개선 사항을 논의함으로써 관련 교과목 개발 및 운영에 이론적이고 실제적인 정보를 제공하는 것이다. 역량 기반 교육을 통해 대학생들의 창의성 증진에 기여할 수 있다는 신념에서 출발하여, 주로 관련 문헌과 연구를 인용하는 방식으로 논의를 전개하였다. 현대 사회에서 대학생들이 함양해야 할 21세기 능력으로 창의성이 가장 많이 언급되는 상황에서, 창의역량 함양을 위한 교과목 운영의 사례와 개선 방향에 대해 역량 기반 교육을 연결하여 논의하였다. 역량은 ‘한 개인이 보여줘야 하는 현재와 미래의 능력’, 또는 ‘사회의 복잡한 문제를 해결하기 위해 필요한 스킬, 능력, 지식의 조합’ 등으로 정의될 수 있다. 역량 기반 교육은 ‘역량을 증진하고, 측정하고, 기록하여 성공적인 삶을 위한 학습 성과를 보여주는 인재를 위한 교육’이다. 창의역량 함양을 위한 수업의 사례에서는 수업 목표, 수업 내용, 수업 방법, 평가 방식에 대해 정리하였으며, 관련 자료를 함께 제시하였다. 수업은 주로 팀 프로젝트 기반의 학습 활동 중심으로 이루어졌으며, 동료평가를 실시하여 평가에 반영한 것이 특징이다. 과목 운영의 개선을 위한 방향에 대해 수업 목표와 내용을 개선하는 문제 및 수업 방법과 평가를 개선하기 위해 필요한 사항과 정보를 중심으로 기술하였다. 특히 지식이 아닌 역량을 실제로 평가하기 위한 실질 평가의 중요성을 강조하였다. 역량 모델, 역량 기반 교육 프로그램의 구조, 역량 기반 커리큘럼의 개발, 커리큘럼 평가 모델의 이용 등에 대한 이해도 중요하다. 후속 연구를 통해 남은 과제를 해결하여 대학생들의 창의역량을 계발하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있기를 기대한다.

영어초록

The purpose of this paper is to provide theoretical and practical information on the development and teaching of related courses by discussing a case of instruction and improvements of the course for fostering creativity in Higher Education. Starting from the belief that competence-based education can contribute to the enhancement of creativity of university students, the discussion was to be carried out mainly by quoting related literature. Creativity is most often mentioned as one of the 21st century skills that university students should cultivate in modern society. A case of the instruction for developing creative capacity was presented and the direction of improvement were discussed in terms of competence-based education. Competence can be defined as the current and future ability that an individual should demonstrate or the combination of skills, abilities, and knowledge necessary to solve complex problems in society. Competence-based education is education for students that enhances, measures, and records skills to demonstrate learning outcomes for a successful life. In the case of the instruction for developing creative skills, the aims of learning, the contents of the lessons and the method of teaching and assessment were summarized and the relevant materials were provided. Lessons are mainly centered on team project-based learning activities, and are characterized by peer-reviewing to reflect in the assessment. The direction for improvement of the course operation was discussed centering on the problems and information needed to improve the course objectives and content, as well as the teaching methods and assessments. In particular, it emphasized the improvement of teaching methods using media art and the introduction of authentic assessments to actually assess capabilities other than knowledge. Understanding the content of the competency model, the structure of competency-based education programs, the development of competency-based curricula and the use of curriculum assessment models is also relevant. Through follow-up research, we hope to solve the remaining tasks, leading to the development and operation of Liberal Arts courses that can help develop creative skills of university students.
