스마트 기기로 바탕색이 다른 근거리작업 시 청광차단렌즈가 가독성 및 자각 증상에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Blue-Light Blocking Lens on Legibility and Subjective Symptoms during Near Work with Different Background Colors Using a Smart Device)

목적: 본 연구에서는 청광 비율이 다른 흰색과 파란색 바탕에서 근거리 작업 시 청광 차단 파장대와 차단율이 다른 종류의 렌즈를 착용하였을 때 가독성 및 자각 증상 변화에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 남녀 30명을 대상으로 굴절 이상을 시험렌즈 테로 교정하였다. 일반렌즈와 청광차단렌즈 2종을 장입한 후 10분 동안 흰색과파란색 배경의 디스플레이로 읽기 작업을 실시하였다. 읽기 속도, 읽은 페이지 수, 자각 증상을 측정하였고, 착용한렌즈의 선호도를 분석하였다. 결과: 배경색과 착용 렌즈에 의한 가독성의 차이가 크지 않았지만 청광 차단으로 인해 가독성이 증가하는 피검자 수가 흰색 바탕에 비해 파란색 바탕에서 증가하였다. 청광 비율이 낮은 흰색 배경은청광 차단렌즈 착용으로 인해 전신 증상과 안 증상에서 증상이 악화되는 경우가 있었지만 렌즈에 대한 선호도에 차이가 없었다. 청광 비율이 높은 파란색 배경은 청광차단렌즈 착용 시 안 증상의 유지 효과가 있었고, 절반 이상이청광차단렌즈를 선호하였다. 선호하는 청광차단렌즈의 종류는 청광 차단율과 비례하지 않았다. 결론: 본 연구결과, 디스플레이의 청광 비율이 높은 조건에서 청광차단렌즈 착용은 자각 증상의 유지에 도움이 되었지만 청광 차단 파장대와 차단율에 따른 렌즈 선호도의 차이가 있었다.

영어초록

Purpose: In this study, the effect of blue light blocking lenses on changes in legibility and subjective symptoms during near work with white and blue backgrounds having different ratios of blue light was investigated when the study subjects were wearing lenses with different blocking ranges and rates against blue light. Methods: Thirty subjects were chosen for inclusion in the study, and their refractive error was fully corrected using a trial frame. The subjects were asked to read the letters on a smart device with white and blue backgrounds for 10 minutes after overlaying a regular lens and two types of blue light-blocking lenses on the trial frame, respectively. Reading speed, total pages read, and subjective symptoms were measured, and the lens preferences were analyzed. Results: There was no significant difference in legibility between the background colors and lens types; however, the number of subjects showing improved legibility increased when the blue background was used compared with the white background by blocking the blue light. There was some exacerbation of general and ocular symptoms during work on the white background having a low ratio of blue light due to wear of blue light-blocking lens; however, no preference regarding the lenses was reported. When wearing a blue light-blocking lens, ocular symptoms did not change during work on the blue background with a high ratio of blue light, and more than half of the participants preferred to wear the blue light-blocking lens. The preference for blue lightblocking lens was not correlated with the blue light-blocking rate. Conclusions: The results revealed that wearing a blue light-blocking lens might not exacerbate the subjective symptoms under conditions with a high ratio of blue light on the display. However, lens preference could vary according to the range of blue light blocked and blocking rate.
