한글의 시각적 우수성과 오방색을 활용한 작품제작 연구 (A Study on the Visual Excellence of Hangeul and the Production of Works using Obangsaek)

초록

최근 한류의 급속한 확산으로 K-문화를 향유하는 계층이 증가함에 따라 한국어의 위상도 함께 증가하고 있다. 이러한 때에 본 연구는 한국 전통문화 콘텐츠의 세계화를 위해 한글과 오방색을 융합하여 다양한 한글 디자인 작품을 제작함으로써 우리 민족의 전통성을 현대 예술로 승화시켜 미용예술의 범위와 영역을 확장하고자 하는 목적이 있다. 연구 방법은 작품제작에 앞서 선행연구와 인터넷 사진 자료를 참고하여 한글 디자인 작품의 조형성과 오방색의 상징적 의미를 고찰한 후, 한글과 오방색을 모티브로 금속 공예를 재해석하여 인체를 형상화하였으며, 오방색의 선명한 색감 표현이 용이한 에바폼과 PVC 컬러필름을 이용하여 디자인하였다. 도시적이고 차가움이 연상되는 금속 소재에 오방색을 배색하여 한국의 전통과 현대적인 감성을 융합하고자 노력하였으며, 한글과 오방색의 모티브에 연구자의 감성과 개성을 담아 인체에 조형적으로 형상화시켜 디자인 요소와 원리를 조화롭게 표현하여 총 5점의 미용예술 작품으로 제작하였다. 작품 1은 오방색 적색을 이용하여 태양의 강렬함을 표현하였고, 작품 2는 황색의 위엄과 신성함을 시각적으로 담았다. 작품 3은 불멸을 나타내는 청색의 바다에 한반도와 태극기를 디자인하여 애국심을 표현하였고, 작품 4는 진실과 삶을 뜻하는 백색에 다색을 배색하여 유니크한 감성으로 디자인하였다. 작품 5는 전혀 다른 의미가 있는 흑색과 백색을 무채색 배색하여 도시적이고 모던한 한글 의상 조명을 제작함으로써 기능성과 예술성을 부여하였다. 연구 결과 한글과 오방색이 결합된 독창적인 작품을 창작함으로써 우리 전통문화 콘텐츠의 또 하나의 예술적 가능성을 알 수 있었으며, 한글과 결합된 오방색은 전통색의 틀에서 벗어나 개성 있고 현대적인 디자인을 표현하는데 효과적임을 확인하였다. 한글과 오방색을 포함한 전통이 새로운 문화 예술을 이끌어내는 동기가 되기를 기대하며, 다양한 소재를 활용한 한글 디자인의 연구와 개발로 K-문화의 이미지를 알리고 경쟁력을 높일 수 있는 현대 미용예술계의 지속적인 후속 연구들이 이어지기를 바란다.

영어초록

As the number of people who enjoy K-culture increases due to the recent rapid spread of the Korean Wave, the status of the Korean language is also increasing. At this time, this study aims to expand the range and realm of beauty art by sublimating the tradition of our nation into modern art by producing various Hangeul design works by fusing Hangeul and Obangsaek for the globalization of Korean traditional cultural contents. As for the research method, prior to the production of the work, the formativeness of the Korean design work and the symbolic meaning of Obangsaek were considered by referring to previous research and Internet photo data, and then the metal craft was reinterpreted with the motif of Hangeul and Obangsaek to shape the human body. It was designed using EVA foam and PVC color film, which are easy to express vivid colors. We tried to fuse Korean tradition and modern sensibility by arranging Obangsaek colors in metallic materials that are reminiscent of urban and coldness, and by embodying the researcher’s sensibility and individuality in the motif of Hangeul and Obangsaek, they were formatively embodied in the human body to design elements and principles. was harmoniously expressed and produced as a total of 5 beauty art works. Artwork 1 expresses the intensity of the sun using Obangsaek red, and Artwork 2 visually captures the dignity and sacredness of yellow. Artwork 3 expressed patriotism by designing the Korean Peninsula and Taegeukgi on the blue sea representing immortality, and Artwork 4 was designed with a unique sensibility by coloring white, which means truth and life. Artwork 5 gave functionality and artistry by producing urban and modern Hangul costume lighting by achromatic coloring of black and white with completely different meanings. The study revealed another artistic possibility of Korean traditional cultural content by creating original works that combine Hangeul and Obangsaek, and confirmed that Obangsaek combined with Hangeul is effective in expressing unique and modern design away from the framework of traditional colors. We hope that traditions, including Hangeul and Obangsaek, will motivate new culture and arts, and that the development of Hangeul design using various materials will lead to continuous follow-up research in the modern beauty art world that can promote the image of K-culture and increase competitiveness.
