애니메이션 캐릭터의 색채가 여아 선호색에 미치는 영향 (An Effect on Girl’s Preferred Color by the Color of Animation Character)

초록

본 연구는 Strawberry Shortcake 애니메이션의 시대별 색채 분석을 통해 애니메이션 캐릭터의 지정된 색채가 여아 선호색에 미치는 영향을 연구하는 것에 목적이 있다. 캐릭터 선호와 색 선호의 연관성과 캐릭터에서의 색채와 직업이 여아의 선호색과 선호직업에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위해 면담과 영상물 시청, 이미지 선택 방법 등으로 진행되었다. 그 결과 두 가지 실험을 통해 애니메이션의 캐릭터는 여아들에게 시각적 효과뿐만 아니라 감성적, 행동 발달적으로도 영향을 준다는 것을 확인하였다. 실험Ⅰ과 실험Ⅱ의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫 번째 실험Ⅰ에서 동적인 동작과 아기자기한 소품이 많이 연출되어 있는 이미지를 선호하였고 빨강 ,보라, 자주 등 선명한 색에 즉각적인 반응을 보였다. 또한 색을 변환하여 이미지를 제시한 결과 캐릭터의 형태는 달라졌지만 두 번째 실험과 같은 결과로 빨강. 핑크 캐릭터를 선호하였다. 이와 같은 결과를 통해 유아는 형태보다 색에 빠르고 적극적인 반응을 보이는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 두 번째 실험Ⅱ에서 애니메이션 캐릭터의 색상과 이미지, 리더십에 의해 선호직업이 바뀌었고, 선호색에서도 밝은 분홍에서 빨강, 자주 등으로 선명하고 강한 색을 선호하였다. 이는 여아의 많은 시간을 집중적으로 할애하고 있는 애니메이션의 영향력이 크다고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해 애니메이션에 지정된 캐릭터의 색채는 여아의 선호색과 선호직업에 영향을 미치는지를 규명하였다. 따라서 아이들의 다양한 색채선호를 위해선 애니메이션에서의 색채 표현은 단순히 감각적인 색채나 어울리는 색 지정에만 그치는 것이 아니라 좀 더 사실적인 묘사표현을 위해 실제적이고 과학적인 색채연구가 활발히 이루어져야 할 것이다.

영어초록

This study aims to study the impact on girl’s preferred color by the given color of animation character through the color analysis of Strawberry Shortcake animation in each era. As the test method for it, interviews, video watching, image selection, etc. were conducted to determine the relationship between character preference and color preference and the effect that character color and its job bring to girl’s color preference and job preference. As a result, from two experiments, it was confirmed that animation character gives not only visual effects to girls but also it affect emotionally and their developmental behavior. Results of experiment I and II are as follows. In the first experiment I, the result where the color of character is eliminated and only the form image is presented has shown that the image where dynamic movement and small and charming accessories are presented was preferred. In the result where the original character’s color image is presented, the immediate reaction was shown in vivid colors such as red, purple, red, violet, purple, etc. The result where the image with converted color is presented has shown that red and pink character were preferred same as the second experiment result. Through the experiment I, girls preferred the imaged character by the color they prefer rather than the form image. Therefore, it was confirmed that infants showed a quick and positive visible reaction on the color rather than the form. In the second experiment II, regarding preferred job, the preferred job was changed from ‘kindergarten teacher’ and ‘mother’ to professional jobs such as‘café ceo’, ‘dance teacher’, etc. and also in the preferred color, vivid and strong colors such as red, purple, etc. were preferred originally from bright pink. This means that the impact from the animation that takes a lot of time of girls is large. Through this study, it was identified whether the color of the character given to animation affect girl’s preferred color and preferred job. Therefore, for a variety of color preference of children, the color representation in animation will need more actual and scientific color research made for more realistic portrayal representation rather than matching a good color only.
