商王朝 後期의 王位繼承과 祭祀制度 연구 (A Study of Succession to the Throne and Ritual System in the late of Sang Dynasty)

초록

In the ancient society of “the union of church and state”, the relation between ritual and political structure was formed closely. These relation have played the role that determined the social institution in the antient society. Just as all are changed according to social change, the social institution do not remain unchanged forever. As the『Huai Nan Tzu·Fan Lun Xun』 says, “Although it was the law in the period of the preceding king, it could be repealed if it did not accordance with the times.” The institution behind the time ought to be reformed and even could be abolished. As for the ritual system in Yinsang age, the conflict over the ‘law’, ‘ritual institution’ was revealed. The Sang dynasty was originally the state assimilated with the variety of clans and tribes. Therefore, the Sang dynasty embraced the totem and numen adored by each clan and tribe, and worshiped them equal to god adored by the dynasty. It was demonstrated by the god such as the nature deity appeared in the oracle bone script. However, by the late of Sang dynasty, the dynasty regarded the worship of ancestors god related with their own blood ties as important in order to establish the more strong state and possess the vast government power. “Jujejdo” was the ritual system represented typically the this situation, and as it became completed, the political structure in the ruling class was fortified and systematized, and finally the system of primogeniture succession to the throne attained to perfection. This paper considered the influence of ritual system on the succession to the throne in the late of Sang dynasty based on the material of ritual text written on the oracle bone script.
