초록

남과 북은 분단이후 수십 년을 다른 문화와 체제의 영향 아래에서 살아왔다. 언어가 같고 한 민족의 정체성을 가지고 있다고 해도 이런 긴 분단의 시간을 무시할 수는 없다. 탈북민을 대상으로 한 연구들은 이런 사실들을 분명하게 보여주고 있다. 이들은 남한사회에서의 경험부족으로 좌절을 경험하기도 하고, 언어나 문화적 차이로 인해서 직장생활에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 남한사람들과의 접촉을 꺼리지는 않는다고 말하지만 실제로 남한사람과의 함께하는 활동에 탈북민들의 참여율이 높지 않다는 것은 이들의 말이 사실과는 다르다는 것을 보여주는 것이다. 최근 남과 북 두 정상간의 만남은 통일에 대한 기대를 갖게 했지만 섣부른 기대와 준비 없는 만남은 오히려 더 많은 문제를 우리에게 던져줄 수 있다. 한편, 한국사회에서 벌어지고 있는 이런 변화는 다시 한번 교회의 사회적 역할을 묻고 있다. 교회라는 배경을 가진 목회돌봄은 개인돌봄의 한계를 넘어 주변 환경과 구조에 관심을 가져야 한다는 시대적 요구에 직면하고 있다. 개인성과 사적인 영역에 대한 편협한 관심으로 인해 목회돌봄의 공적인 영역과 사회적 책임을 놓치고 있다는 지적은 목회상담이 사회문제에 어떻게 대응해야 하는가를 고민해야 한다는 의미이다. 개인의 문제는 결코 그가 속한 외부적 상황을 벗어나서 발생할 수 없기 때문이다. 남북관계를 둘러싼 한국사회의 변화과정은 교회가 처한 사회적 상황이고 어떤 식으로든지 거기에 응답해야 할 문제이다.
한국의 수많은 교회들은 잠재적 역량이 있다. 특별히 이 연구가 관심 갖는 소그룹은 많은 교회들에서 익숙히 행해지고 지금도 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이들을 북한이주민들을 위한 특수한 목적으로 훈련하고 교육한다면 안정적 남북교류와 정착을 가져오는데 기여할 수 있다. 그래서 본 연구는 남과 북 주민들의 평화적 정착을 돕기 위한 집단상담의 원리를 적용한 교회내 상담학적 소그룹 모임에 대한 목회신학적 모델을 다루었다. 이 작업을 위해 소그룹의 역사에 대해 간략히 살펴본 후, 요한복음 4장에 예수님과 사마리아 여인의 만남을 소그룹의 목회신학적 근거로 삼고 살펴보았다. 특별히 Donald Capps의 “희망”을 활성화 시키는 중요한 요소로 “신뢰(Trust)"와 Donald Winnicott의 ”안아주는 환경(holding-environment)"의 의미를 예수님과 사마리아 여인의 이야기 가운데 살펴본 후 상담학적 소그룹의 변화를 위한 변곡점이 될 중요 요소로 제시하였다.

영어초록

The South and the North have lived under the influence of different cultures and systems for decades since the division of Korea. Even if Korean people have the same language and identity as Koreans, the effect of the long division cannot be ignored. Studies about Korean defectors clearly show they experience setbacks due to a lack of experience in South Korean society, and have difficulties in the work place due to language or cultural differences. They say they are not afraid to contact South Koreans; however, few North Korean defectors participate in activities with South Koreans. The recent meeting between the two leaders of the South and the North raised expectations for reunification, but hasty expectations and unprepared meetings could create more problems for reunification. However, the changes taking place in Korean society are once again raising questions about the social role of the church. Pastoral care within the context of the church should go beyond the limits of individual care and pay attention to the surrounding environment and structure. There is an argument that narrow-minded interest in individuality and the private sector is missing the importance of the public realm and social responsibility as part of pastoral care. This means that pastoral counseling should consider how to respond to social problems. This is because personal problems can only be understood within of the circumstances of the people affected by those problems. The process of changing Korean society over inter-Korean relations is a social situation the church faces and a matter that needs to be answered.
Countless churches in Korea have potential capabilities. In particular, this study focused on the functions of small groups, as actively practiced in many churches. If the churches train their members for special purposes for the benefit of North Koreans, they can contribute to bringing about stable inter-Korean exchanges and settlements. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to study a theological model for small counseling groups in the church applying the principle of group counseling to help the peaceful settlement of the people of the south and north. After a brief look at the history of the small group, the study will take a look at the meeting between Jesus and the Samaritan woman in Chapter 4 of John's Gospel as a theological basis of the small group. In particular, Donald Capps' idea about "trust" as a significant factor to active "hope" and Donald Winnicott's "holding-environment" will be explored as important concepts for understanding change in the Samaritan woman in the story of Jesus and Samaritan woman, and will be suggested as important function in small group practice.
