언어변화의 양상 -“sa삽입 표현과 re첨가 표현”을 중심으로- (言語変化の様相 -「さ入れ言葉とれ足す言葉」を中心に- Language change focusing on ‘sa-insertion’ and ‘re-addition’)

초록

言語変化の一般的な要因として考えられるのは、「ら抜き言葉」のような言語の機能的側面からの簡潔性であろう。しかしながら、「さ入れ言葉」の場合、言語変化の一要因である簡潔性と逆行するのみならず、「二重sa制約」を受けない方向への言語変化を呈する。本稿では、「さ入れ言葉」と「れ足す言葉」の言語変化の発生のメカニズムを記述し、規範型と変化型の機能的側面の相違点を記述する。規範型と変化型の音声的特徴を分析した結果、つぎのようなことが明らかとなった。①規範型においては、“V+sete”がひとまとまりを成して現われ、アクセント型もLHHL(2mora語の場合)である。一方、変化型においては“V+sasete”が分離される形として現われ、アクセント型もLH-HLL(2mora語の場合)で現われる。なお、変化型において動詞語幹と「させて」との間には、わずかのポーズがおかれる特徴が認められる。②規範型と変化型の機能面での相違点は、規範型は話し手の積極的な強い意志をもった行為を表わし、変化型は話し手の消極的で控え目な行為を表わすということである。③変化型には、二重謙譲表現·謙譲可能表現·二重sa制約の克服·五音節語以上の語にも接続するなどの特徴が認められる。④子音語幹動詞接続の「させていただく」型謙譲表現の使用は増加の道をたどっている。一方“re-Insertion”による新型可能動詞の形成は伸び悩んでいる。このような傾向は、前者は話し手の行為を低めて相手を高める謙譲表現という言表態度に使われ、後者は限られた一部の動詞の可能態と自発態という異形態による不都合を解消するための新しい可能動詞形成に使われるスタイルの違いによるものである。

Generally, as a factor of language change, simplification, like ra-deletion, can be considered in its functional side. However, it is true that the case of ‘sa-insertion’ goes in the opposite way to the simplification as a factor of language change, and that it lies free of the ‘double sa-constraint’. The paper shows the difference between the normal and the changed types in terms of both the language change mechanism and its functional side like the following:1. The voice features of the normal and changed types reveal that the verb stem is united with ‘sete’, producing ‘Vsete’; in the case of HLL(2mora words) type accent and changed type the verb stem and ‘sasete’ produce separated ‘V-sasete’, making LH-HLL(2mora word) type accent. And in the case of changed type there lies a pause between the verb stem and ‘sasete’.
2. Functionally, the normal type represents the speaker’s positive and strong will while the changed type reflects the speaker’s negative and careful attitude.
3. New aspects of changed types should be recognized which are used in expressions of double respect, semi-modest, no sa-constraint, more than 5 syllabled words.
4. The use of modest expressions using sa-insertion is on the increase while that of possible verbs using re-addition on the decrease. This tendency can be attributed to the fact that while the former reflects the speaker's attitude to respect the listener by humbling himself, the latter comes from the systemic change of creating a new type of possible verbs which removes the difficulty of different voices of potential and spontaneity. And too much exposure to the double re-constraint can be another reason for the latter situation.
