인문과학의 과제와 전망 -조동일 학문 “대등생극론”을 예증삼아- (The Challenges and Prospects of the Humanities - Using Cho Dong-il's academic “Equal Becoming-Overcoming Theory”as an example -)

이 논문은 인문과학의 과제와 전망을 다루는 예증으로 조동일의 최근 저작인 <<대등생극론≫을 주안점으로 삼아 다루는 것을 목적으로 한다. 우리 인문학문의 핵심적 과제는 거시이론의 탐구에 있다. 이 이론이 필요한 이유는 개별적인 사례와 미시적인 연구로 감당할 수 없는 커다란 문제가 있기 때문이다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해서 필요한 것은 거시이론인데, 거시이론은 간명하고, 포괄하는 범위가 풍부하고, 동시에 유용한 쓰임새가 있는 것을 핵심으로 한다. 조동일의 대등생극론은 이에 충분한 가치를 가지고 있는 이론이다.
대등생극론은 단순한 이론은 아니고, 조동일 학문의 완성된 면모를 갖춘 이론이라고 할 수 있다. 생극론에서 출발하여 창조주권론, 대등론, 역사선후역전론 등으로 전개되면서 이제 대등생극론을 완성하기에 이르렀다. 대등생극론은 만물대등생극론, 만생대등생극론, 만인대등생극론의 삼층위를 구성한다. 이 이론은 인문학문, 사회학문, 자연학문 등을 최종적으로 총괄하고 이론적 해명이 가능한 범위를 타진하는데 목적을 둔다. 이 점을 특별하게 철인의 달관이라고 하는 점을 표방하면서 거시이론을 탐색한 결과이다.
대등생극론은 공간적인 인간관계가 생극을 이룬다는 전제이다. 이의 범위를 확대하게 되면 우주천진만물이 대등생극을 이루는 것이 만물대등생극론이다. 인간, 동물, 식물 등이 대등한 생극의 관계를 맺는 것이 만생대등생극론이다. 인간이 대등한 생극의 관계를 이루는 것이 만인대등등생극론이다. 생극의 범주와 선후 교체 등의 관계를 이룩하면서 다양하게 변용되는 것이 존재한다.
이 이론은 매우 추상적인 것 같지만 이론의 포괄적인 성격, 사례의 무한한 수용과 적용, 미완의 가능성을 가진 점에서 각별한 이론적 성격을 가진다고 할 수 있다. 대등생극론은 아무런 쓸모가 없는 듯하지만 거시이론의 대안으로서 매우 중요한 가치를 가지고 있다. 아울러서 이러한 범위의 이론은 하나여서는 안된다. 생극론의 관점을 달리 하면 운화론이나 신흥종교에서 내세우는 후천개벽과도 상통하는 이론적 성격이 있음을 알 수가 있다.

영어초록

As an example of dealing with the challenges and prospects of the humanities, this paper aims to focus on Cho Dong-il's recent work, <Equal Becoming-Overcoming Theory>(對等生克論). The core task of our humanities is to explore macro theory. The reason why this theory is needed is that there are big problems that individual cases and microscopic studies cannot handle. What is needed to solve this problem is macro theory, which is simple, has a rich range of coverage, and at the same time has useful uses. Cho Dong-il's Equal Becoming-Overcoming Theory is a theory that has sufficient value.
The Equal Becoming-Overcoming Theory is not a simple theory, but a theory with the completed aspect of Cho Dong-il's studies. Starting with the Becoming-Overcoming Theory, it developed into the theory of creative sovereignty, the theory of equality, and the theory of history, and has now completed the Becoming-Overcoming Theory. The Equal Becoming-Overcoming Theory constitutes the three layers of the theory of all things, the Equal Becoming-Overcoming Theory, and the theory of universal play. This theory aims to finally oversee humanities, social studies, and natural studies, and to explore the scope of theoretical explanation. This is the result of exploring macro theory, advocating that this point is specially called the iron man's view of the moon view.
The Equal Becoming-Overcoming Theory is based on the premise that spatial human relationships form a live play. If the scope of this is expanded, it is the Manmul Equal Becoming-Overcoming Theory(萬物對等生克論) that the universe is equal. It is the Equal Becoming-Overcoming Theory of Mansaeng Equal Becoming-Overcoming Theory(萬生對等生克論) that humans, animals, and plants have an equal relationship. It is Manin Equal Becoming-Overcoming Theory(萬人對等生克論) that humans form an equal play relationship. There are various transformations while establishing a relationship such as the category of live plays and the replacement of precedents.
This theory seems very abstract, but it can be said to have a special theoretical character in that it has a comprehensive nature of the theory, infinite acceptance and application of cases, and the possibility of incomplete. Equal Becoming-Overcoming Theory seems to be of no use, but it has very important value as an alternative to macro theory. In addition, this range of theories should not be one. Differently from the perspective of Unwha theory(運化論), it can be seen that there is a theoretical character that is in line with the theory of Hucheongaebyok(後天開闢) or the theory of acquired enlightenment in emerging religions.
