루마니아 설화와 민담에서 삶과 죽음의 경계(lumea de dincolo, celălalt tărâm)의 공간 담론 (Spacial Discourse on Boundary between Life and Death in Romanian Folk Tales)

초록

루마니아 설화와 민담은 주인공이 출발의 명분을 찾고, 통과 의례를 거쳐서 삶과 죽음 경계의 공간, 성스러운 공간에 입문하고, 성취하고, 다시 현실로 귀환하는 구조를 보여준다. 현실의 세계에서 성스러운 공간으로 들어가는 여정을 이야기하는 루마니아 설화·민담은 굉장히 풍요롭고, 지방별로 다양하게 각색되었다. 주인공은 목적한 바를, 혹은 부모의 소원을 이루고자, 자기 실수나 잘못을 깨닫고, 바로잡기 위해 여정을 준비하고, 여행에 필수적인 말을 고른다. 여정을 떠날 자격이 있는지 시험을 치른다. 삶과 죽음 경계의 공간인 루메아 데 딘콜로, 첼럴랄트 터름은 내가 살아있는 공간 너머의 ‘저세상’, ‘죽음의 세계’, ‘또 다른 경계의 공간’을 의미한다. 주인공은 삶과 죽음의 경계 공간으로 넘어가는 것을 두려워하지 않는다. 그곳은 성장과 성취의 공간이자, 회귀가 용이한 공간이다. 멀지 않은 외곽 지역이고, 조용하고, 아름답고, 온갖 종류의 꽃이 피어있고, 악마의 우두머리가 없는 곳, 꺼지지 않는 불이 있는 공간이다. 땅에서 사는 존재나 사랑하는 사람을 잊는 곳, 그리움이나 연민, 삶의 무게가 없는 곳이다. 현실과 다른 카이로스의 시간이 적용되기도 한다. 그 공간에서 주인공은 자신이 이루고자 한 바를 성취하거나 완성한다. 그리고 그 공간에서 나와 삶의 세계로 귀환한다.

영어초록

In Romania folk tales and oral stories have become one of favorite genres of literature through recording and publications and they have inspired Romanian literature. Several versions has developed depending on regional preferences. In crowd areas the stories, which tells about kingdom, king and crown prince, have become very colorful. Romania is geographically mountainous country, so the woods became holy area of sorceries, perils and challenges. In Romanian folk tales and oral stories, heroes find grand causes and initiate themselves into another world, do great achievements and get back home. Intermediate area between life and death originated from old Dacian concept of death. Different regions have different versions of folk tales and oral stories, which is mainly about the journey from area of the living to holy area of the dead. Protagonist Fat-Frumos, third prince(Harap alb & Praslea) and third princess achieve their goals, do enterprises on behalf of others and enter into holy space to correct their errors. They choose their eligible horses and beat the troublesome antagonists. Finally they initiate themselves into boundary between life and death(lumea de dincolo or celalalt taram). They achieve their goals and mature themselves, finish their jobs on the request of others and come back home. Intermediate area, boundary between life and death(lumea de dincolo or celalalt taram) means other dimensions over the space of the living, the area of the dead and the boundary space between two worlds. The hero who makes expedition is dauntless to cross the line between life and death. That area is the space of maturation, achievement and easy return.
That is not distant, rural, calm and scenic place of various flowers where the chief evils and everlasting fire exist, That is the place where people forget about their beloved ones and companions and there is no sympathies on others and the weight of life It also demands Kairos which is different from real world.
