독거노인의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 생활체육활동 참여에 대한 의미형성과정 (Meaning Formation Process of Solitary Senior Citizens' Participation in Daily Sports Activities to Improve Quality of Life)

초록

이 연구의 목적은 독거노인들의 삶의 질 향상을 위해 생활체육활동 참여에 대한 의미형성과정에 대해 스크립트, 상징, 커뮤니케이션과 같은 영향요인을 통해 의미는 어떠한가를 구명하고, 의미의 형성이 이루어지는 과정을 구명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이 연구는 질적 연구방법을 사용하였으며, 연구 참여자는 생활체육활동이 활발히 이루어지고 있는 노인정 및 조직화된 게임 형식의 생활체육인 게이트볼 참여 독거노인을 대상으로 ‘눈덩이 굴리기'를 통하여 15명을 선정하였다. 이들을 대상으로 이야기식 인터뷰 및 참여관찰을 통하여 자료를 수집하였으며, 자료 분석은 항시비교법과 인지적 도식방법을 사용하여 개념범주와 상호작용의 패턴을 찾아내었고, 그 내용을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 스크립트의 영향에 의해 참여자의 내면적, 외면적으로 인지되어 있던 정보와 행동 간의 직접적으로 연관되어 행동을 하게 된다. 둘째, 행동에 영향을 미친 동기들은 여러 요인에 의해 참여하게 되고, 생활체육활동에 참여하는 과정에서 참여자 개개인에 따른 상징을 형성하게 된다. 상징은 생활체육활동에 지속적으로 참여하게 만드는 원인이 된다. 셋째, 생활체육활동을 통해 대인간의 상호작용이 이루어지고, 건강이라는 상징을 부여함으로서 생활체육이라는 공통된 의미와 상징적 상호작용이 이루어진다. 넷째, 생활체육활동에 대해 누구나 공유할 수 있는 의미로서 상징에서 나타난 건강과 커뮤니케이션은 누구나 공감하고 공유 할 수 있는 “의미 있는 상징” 으로서 “공유된 의미”이다. 즉, 생활체육활동 참여의 무의식에서 생활체육활동을 처음 참여하게 되는 동기를 통해 스키마와 같은 정보 기억체계가 형성되어지고, 스키마는 생활체육활동 참여 계기를 제공하게 된다. 그러므로 스키마에 의한 생활체육활동 참여는 스크립트에 의해 행동하게 되어 진다. 또한 생활체육활동 참여의 행위는 참여의 의미를 부여하게 됨으로서 참여의 상징을 부여하게 되고 생활체육활동 참여에 대한 스키마는 더욱 강화된다. 이러한 생활체육활동 참여는 참여의 경험이 많아질수록 더욱 많은 스키마를 갖게 되고 생활체육활동 참여에 대한 상징도 더욱 강화된다. 따라서 생활체육활동 참여는 참여의 상징에 의해 지속적 참여로 이어지고, 지속적 참여는 커뮤니케이션을 통해 더욱 강화되어 진다는 것이다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the meaning of solitary senior citizens' participation in daily sports activities to improve their quality of life through affecting factors such as script, symbol and communication and the forming process of meaning. For the study, qualitative analysis method was applied and 15 elderlies were selected through "Snowball rolling" from the senior center where daily sports activities are actively exercised and solitary senior citizens who are participating in the gate ball game. From them, data was gathered through narrative interview and participatory observation. And the constant-comparative method and cognitive graphical method were applied to find out conceptual categories and interaction pattern. the findings are summarized as follows. First, the information that has recognized internally and externally by the participants due to the effect of script and the behavior are directly related to action. Second, the factors influenced on the action participates by several factors and the individual symbol of participant in the process of participating in daily sports activities can be formed. The symbol is the cause to make them participate in daily sports activities. Third, the interaction between the people can be realized through daily sports activities. By granting a symbol called Health, the common meaning and symbolic interaction can be made through daily sports activities. Fourth, the health and communication that occurred in the symbol as a meaning of daily sports activity that everyone can share is "a shared meaning" as "a meaningful symbol" that everyone can share and sympathize. In other words. through the motivation to participate in daily sports activities first in the unconsciousness of participating in daily sports activities, information storage system such as schema can be formed and the schema provide an opportunity to participate in daily sports activities. Therefore, the participation in daily sports activities by the schema can be activated by the script. Also, as the participation in daily sports activities and behaviors give a meaning of participation, it gives a symbol of participation and the schema toward participating in daily sports activities can be more strengthened. The more participating experiences are, the more schema the participation in daily sports activities will have. And the symbol for the participation in daily sports activities can be more strengthened. Therefore, the participation in daily sports activities continues by the symbol of participation and the continuous participation can be more strengthened by the communication.
