영화 『밴디트』와 『즐거운 인생』의 비교 연구 -삶의 희망이 되는 음악에 관해- (The comparative research on the movie,『Bandits』 and 『Happy Life』 -About the music becoming the hope of our life-)

초록

회화, 조각, 건축물 등의 조형예술은 삼차원의 세계에 실재하는 구체적인 소재에 바탕을 두고 공간적인 대상을 형태로 창조하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있으나, 음악은 문예나 무용과 더불어 시간에 흐름에 따라 생성, 전개되어 간다. 따라서 조형예술을 정적이고 공간예술이라 부르는 데 대해 음악은 동적이고 시간예술이라 불리는데, 같은 시간예술이라 하더라도 그것은 각각 독자적인 특성을 갖추고 있다. 곧 문예는 언어의 사용으로 관념적인 의미 내용을 표현하고, 무용은 무용수의 움직임을 중심으로 함으로써 시각적이고 형상적인데 반해 음악은 소재인 소리의 순수성에다 시간적인 성질에 바탕을 둔 가장 단적인 시간예술이라 할 수 있다. 두 영화 모두에서 음악은 인간에게 있어 치유의 역할, 삶에 희망을 부여하는 존재로 그려진다. 『즐거운 인생』의 주인공들은 이미 인생의 절정을 흘려보내고 도구적 존재, 혹은 그 이하의 존재로 추락한 남자들이다. 이들이 젊은 날을 되살리고 무료한 삶의 일탈을 위해 택한 방법이 바로 음악이며, 『밴디트』의 주인공들, 인생의 절정을 맞이할 수 있을지조차 불분명한 여자들이 최후의 수단이자 열정으로 불사르는 것이 바로 음악이다. 그러나 그들이 음악을 통해 이루고자 하는 자유의 성격에서도 둘의 차이점이 드러난다. 『즐거운 인생』에서 말하는 자유는 소박한 것이다. 같은 것은 다르게 생각해 볼 수 있는 여유와 마음을 가지고 현실 속의 괴로움을 현실 밖의 현실, 즉 일탈 속에서 풀어내는 모습을 그린다. 이에 반해 『밴디트』에서 말하는 자유는 보다 거대하고 원론적이다. 즉, 다른 사람의 의지가 아닌 스스로의 의지에 따라 행동한다. 그들은 보다 완전한 자유를 추구한다. 즉, 죽음과 삶이 하나가 되고 너와 내가 하나가 되는 것이다. 인간의 제반 권리가 존중받고 인간이 평화롭게 공존할 수 있는 사회에 대한 염원이 그들의 음악에 들어 있다. 연구의 결과는 이 두 영화들의 음악이 주인공들에게 희망이 되었다는 사실이다. 치열한 경쟁만이 있는 자본주의 사회의 현실 속에서 이들은 이 현실에 존재하지 않는 무엇을 노래했다. 즉 그들은 자신들의 자유에 대한 외침을 노래한 것이다.

영어초록

The formative arts like a picture, a sculpture and a building is based on the concrete material that is existent in the world of three dimensions to achieve the purpose of creating the spacial object as the permanent form. Therefore, the formative arts is called as a static and a spacial arts. On the other hand, music is called as a kinetic arts based on tempo. The arts based on tempo possesses its own personal characters. In 『Bandits』 and 『Happy Life』, the music is appeared as the existence giving the hope to the life and as the role of healing to the human being. The heroes of 『Happy Life』are the ones who fell down to the ground as the instrument of existence with spending the summit of life. The thing that selected for a radical departure of the wearisome life and for coming back to their youth was the music. The heroines of 『Bandits』, the women who were on the position of being ambiguous of attaining the very summit of their lives selected the music as an extreme measure to inflame the base passion. But at the characteristic of freedom that they wanted to achieve through music, the differences between these two movies are existing. The freedom at 『Happy Life』 is very naive. With the heart and reserve that can think the same as the different, the movie shows us the actuality that is existing outside of the actuality. In other words, the movie solves the trouble in the actuality by means of departure and the movie remembers again that the heroes have the rights to seek for the freedom regarding as the lost one. On the contrary to it, the freedom in the movie, 『Bandits』 is more gigantic and is narrower to the principle. They act according to their own will. They don't act according to the other person's will. Like the words, "the freedom is no more to lose", they pursue the more complete freedom. That is to say, the life and the death become one and then you and I are become one. That is the one becoming more than the life. They give evidence of suffering of the imprisoned person through rock music and disclose the elements threatening the life to express the anger to the violent actuality. The desire for the society that all the human beings could coexist peacefully and every rights of human beings is respected. The result of research was that music had become the hope to them. In the actuality of the capitalistic society where there is only a fierce competition, they sang what is not existing in this world. They sang the crying for their own freedom.
