초록

이 논문은 대학 글쓰기교육의 현황을 보고하고 삶을 가꾸는 글쓰기교육의 이상을 위한 방향을 모색하는 데 목적을 둔다. 삶을 변화시키는 글쓰기란, 종래의 ‘결과 중심 글쓰기교육’이나 수사학적 작문교육 방식과는 다르다. 학생들이 전범으로 삼을 명사의 모범 문장을 원문 통달시키거나 명문을 모방하라고 주입식으로 교육하지 않는다. 비판적 사고에 기초한 논술 방식의 ‘과정 중심 글쓰기’를 시키고, 나아가 사회 구성주의 이론을 접합한 ‘치유의 글쓰기’를 수행한다. 필자는 글쓰기를 지도하면서 학생들과의 개별 면담을 통해 상호소통의 피드백을 수행하면서 글쓰기 치료, 힐링 글쓰기를 시도하였다. 바람직한 글쓰기는 텍스트 밖의 사물을 표현하고 전달하는 도구에 머물지 않고, 사고력 향상에 기여하고 저자와 독자의 삶까지 변화시킨다. 글쓰기란 저자의 글에 자기만의 생각과 삶을 담고 그를 통해 삶까지 변화시키는 길을 보여준다. 전통적인 글쓰기처럼 ‘인간과 생활의 기록’에만 그치는 것이 아니라, 글쓰기가 한 인간의 성장이나 삶의 질적 변화에 실질적으로 관여하는 점에서 ‘사람됨(Menschen Werden)’의 한 과정이며 의미화의 실천 과정이라고 재규정할 수 있다. 그러려면 글쓰기 교사의 헌신과 애정, 학생의 신뢰가 상호작용을 이루어야 한다. 교사 입장에서 학생의 글을 단지 문법과 논리, 표현만 문제 삼는 것이 아니라 거기 담긴 그들의 생각과 삶까지 개입해야 하기 때문이다. 학생의 생각과 삶을 변화시키는 글쓰기를 가르치는 과정에서 글쓰기 교사의 생각과 삶도 함께 변화하는 것이 더욱 바람직할 것이다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to look into the current writing education of universities and explore the direction for the ideal of the writing education that would change the life. The writing that changes the life is different from the conventional result-oriented writing education or rhetorical composition education. Such writing conducive to changing the life avoids forcing the students to learn the exemplary and excellent sentences of masters by rote or imitate such sentences. Rather, it promotes the essay type process- oriented writing based on the critical thinking, and furthermore, encourages the healing writing that incorporates the theory of social constructionism. This researcher attempted the treatment through the writing and the healing writing by means of individual interview while providing guidance on writing. The desirable writing helps improve the thinking power and changes the lives of both author and readers, not merely serving the role of tool for expressing the objects beyond the text and conveying the meaning. The writing is the container for the unique ideas and life of author and shows the way to change the life. Like the traditional writing, the writing is not confined to the record of human and life, but can be reinterpreted as the process of MenschenWerden and the process of the signifying practices because the writing is practically involved in the growth of human or qualitative changes of life. For that, the interaction is required in the commitment and affection of the writing teachers and the trust of students. Teachers need to be involved in the ideas and lives of students, as well as provide guidance to students on grammar, logics, and expression in writing from the standpoint of teachers. It would be more desirable if the ideas and lives of teachers are also changed in the course of teaching the writing that changes the ideas and lives of students.
