초록

본고는 19세기 중반 관료이자 문인인 石梧 尹致英(1803∼1858)을 19세기 북한산 유람의 주요 양상인 근거리 단일화된 유람의 중심인물로 파악하고, 『石梧集』(국립중앙도서관)에 수록된 그의 산수유기 19편 가운데 북한산 유기 9편을 취합하여 분석하고 이를 규명하고자 하였다. 석오의 북한산 유람은 전 생애에 걸쳐 이루어졌는데 환로에서 발생한 정치적 부침으로 인해 유배기를 중심으로 사환기의 유람과 해배기의 유람으로 양분되며, 동행자의 유무에 따라 두 시기의 주요 활동과 정서적 분위기 등에서 현격한 차이를 보인다. 사환기의 유람이 형제와 조카를 비롯해 벗이나 손님들과 함께 즐겁고 화락한 분위기를 연출하면서 이에 대한 묘사에 치중했다면, 해배기 이후의 유람은 유배의 과정에서 얻은 숙병으로 인해 주로 홀로 유람하였으며 객관적인 입장에서 사적에 대한 자세한 기록과 주관적인 입장에서 느낌이나 감회 등을 술회하는 데 집중하였다. 구성 방식과 표현상의 특징에서 석오의 북한산 유람은 19세기 북한산 유기의 구성 방식과 표현방식의 주요 양상인 구성의 단편화와 간략화 등에서 그 맥을 같이 하며 이바지하는 바가 크고, 인용과 열거를 통한 비유적 표현 등도 19세기 유기 문학에서 현격히 증가한 비유적인 표현 등과 함께 궤를 같이하면서 유기의 객관성 및 사실성을 확보함과 동시에 寫實美를 조성하고 있다. 이러한 석오의 북한산 유람은 인근에 한정된 勝景과 名所의 탐방, 그리고 暢神을 통한 治癒의 과정으로서 의미를 지닌다. 이러한 사실은 석오의 북한산 유기 전편이 모두 거주지를 중심으로 인근의 북한산 외곽에 한정된 승경이나 주변의 명소를 일회적으로 탐방하기 위해 진행된 단일화된 유람이었다는 점에서 확인할 수 있으며, 같은 시기 북한산 외곽에 한정된 근거리 단일화된 유람을 보여준 박윤묵이나 한장석 등과 같이 한두 차례의 유람에 그친 것이 아니라 여러 차례 지속해서 이루어졌다는 점에서도 특징적이다. 이는 석오가 전 생애에 걸쳐 도성과 성북의 외곽에 거처하며 일상적으로 근거리에 한정된 승경과 명소를 빈번하게 유람할 수 있었기에 가능했던 것으로 판단된다. 이러한 사실을 통해 석오가 19세기 북한산 유기의 주요 양상의 하나인 근거리 단일화된 유람의 중심인물이었음이 확인된다. 결과적으로 석오의 북한산 유람은 19세기 북한산 유람이 일상 속의 근거리 유람으로 자리매김하는 데 이바지하는 바가 매우 크고, 또 구체적인 실례가 된다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 아울러 한 사람이 기록한 북한산 유기로는 가장 많은 편수인 6편을 확보함으로써 북한산 유기 문학사에서 차지하는 의의 또한 높다고 판단된다.

영어초록

This study identified Seokoh Yun Chi‐yeong (石梧 尹致英, 1803‐1858), a bureaucrat and literary man in the mid‐19th century as the central figure of short‐distance and unified travel, the main aspect of Bukhansan mountain travel in the 19th century, and attempted to collect, analyze, and identify the nine Bukhansan mountain travelogues among his 19 hills and rivers travelogues included in “Seokohjip (石梧集)” (housed by the National Library of Korea). Seokoh's Bukhansan mountain travel took place throughout his life, due to political ups and downs in his government service career, and focusing on the exile period, it is divided into travel in the government service period and travel in the post‐exile period, and depending on the presence or absence of a companion, there is a marked difference in the main activities and emotional atmosphere of the two periods. While travel of the government service period focused on describing it while creating a pleasant and luxurious atmosphere with friends and guests, including brothers and nephews, travel after the post‐exile period was mainly solo travel due to a chronicle disease obtained in the course of exile. From an objective point of view, it was focused on a detailed record of the trace of events (事跡), and from a subjective point of view, expressing feelings and emotions. In terms of narrative aspect and content, Seokoh's Bukhansan mountain travel is in line with the fragmentation and simplification of the composition, which are the main aspects of the construction method and expression method of the 19th century Bukhansan mountain travelogues, and contributes greatly, and figurative expressions through citations and enumerations also coincided with the metaphorical expressions that increased significantly in 19th century travelogue literature. While securing objectivity and realism of travelogue, realistic beauty (寫實美) was created. In terms of content, Seokoh's Bukhansan mountain travelogues have their high material value as they specifically record the main temples of Bukhansan mountain that appeared newly in the 19th century, and the anecdotes related to the birth of the royal court and Seokoh's own extraordinary friendship (方外之交). Seokoh's Bukhansan mountain travel has meaning as enjoyment of magnificent scenes, visiting famous sights, healing through mindfulness (治癒), and short‐distance travel in everyday life. As Seokoh lived on the outskirts of the capital and north fortress throughout his life, it is thought that it was possible because he frequently traveled to magnificent scenes and famous sights that were limited to short distances on a daily basis. From this fact, it is confirmed that all of Seokoh's Bukhansan mountain travelogues were short‐distance and unified travel, and at that time, it was not just one or two trips along with Park Yun‐muk or Han Jang‐seok, etc., but all his Bukhansan mountain travels are characteristic in that they were all short‐distance and unified travels. Through these facts, it is confirmed that Seokoh is the central figure of short‐distance unified travel, one of the main aspects of the 19th century Bukhansan mountain travelogues. As a result, Seokoh's Bukhansan mountain travel contributes greatly to establishing the 19th century Bukhansan mountain travel as a short‐distance travel in everyday life, and it is also meaningful in that it is a concrete example. In addition, it is said that the significance of the Bukhansan mountain travelogue in the literature history is high by securing six books, which is the largest number of Bukhansan mountain travelogues recorded by one person.
