朝鮮時代 士大夫 墓碑의 日月象 硏究 (A Study on Solar and Lunar Emblems seen the High official's Tombstone of Chosun Period)

초록

조선시대 사대부 묘비 문양 중 日月象文을 중심으로 日月象文의 시기별 변화와 그 상징적 의미를 고찰했다. 또한 묘비 유형 중 圓首形 머릿돌(冠石)에 시문된 日月象文을 중심으로 연구를 진행했다. 조선시대 사대부 묘비에 시문된 日象文은 圓으로 태양을 형상화 한 것이 주류를 이룬다. 그 외에 태양 안에 새를 등장시킨 日象文을 살필 수 있다. 月象文은 보름달, 반달, 초승달로 표현되거나 달 안에 방아 찧는 토끼를 등장시키는 등 다채로운 모습을 보인다. 한편 16세기이후에는 日象文과 月象文, 龍文과 月象文, 日象文과 龍文, 日象文문과 구름문, 구름문과 月象文, 日象文과 구름문, 朱雀과 龍文, 龍文과 朱雀, 朱雀과 月象文 등 여러 문양들이 묘비 앞뒷면에 다채롭게 시문되었다. 하지만 日月象文이 점차 龍文과 구름문으로 대체되면서 18세기 이후에는 묘비 문양에 잘 나타나지 않는다.
조선시대에는 中原 유교 문화권의 日象文 전통을 반영하는 둥근 원의 日象文이 사대부 묘비에 많이 시문되었다. 이는 유교 정통주의를 표방했던 明나라와 사대 관계를 맺으며 중국 중심의 국제 질서 하에 있고자 했던 당시 조선의 정치 상황을 반영한다. 또한 조선 전기에는 초승달로 月象文을 표현한 것이 많고, 조선 후기에는 보름달로 月象文을 나타낸 것이 주를 이룬다. 그 배경은 초승달은 만월인 보름달로 가는 달로 팽창과 번영을 의미하며, 만월인 보름달은 풍요를 상징하기 때문이다. 한편 둥근 원 안에 날개를 펴고 날아가는 새로 표현된 日象文은 묘주가 中宗 反正과 직간접으로 연계되어 있다는 점이 주목된다.
지금까지 살펴본 묘비에 시문된 日月象文을 통해 조선시대 사대부의 生死觀을 고찰해보면, 첫째 정치적 영향력과 신분적 지위를 지녔던 사대부 묘비에 日月象文을 나타낸 것은, 해와 달은 주기적 회귀의 규칙성을 지니며 늘 순환하고 재생하기 때문에, 현세의 삶이 저 세상까지 이어지기를 바라는 繼世 사상을 반영한다. 둘째 묘제 장엄에 등장하는 新生과 풍요를 상징하는 日月象文에는 묘주가 살았을 때의 정치적 시대상과 천하관, 묘주의 삶의 행적이 투영되어 있다. 따라서 日月象文이 죽은 이를 위한 묘제 장엄에 사용된 것임에도 불구하고 死後세계보다는 현실세계를 적극적으로 담아내고 있다.

Ilwolsangmun(日月象文), which is often encountered in the tomb culture in Korea, was selected as the subject of study on tombstone patterns. The study of gravestone patterns in the study of the tombs of the four grandfathers was not done. Therefore, this study attempted to examine the changes of Ilwolsangmun according to the times and its symbolic meaning, focusing on Ilwolsangmun among the tombstone patterns of the Joseon Dynasty.
In the Joseon Dynasty, when Confucianism was adopted as the state religion, in both the early and late periods, the sun was formed in a circular circle. The fact that many round circles of daily texts reflecting the traditions of the Ilsangmun of the Confucian culture in the middle of the Joseon Dynasty were expressed on the gravestones of the four grandfathers of the Joseon Dynasty. Reflects the political situation. The reason for this view is that the Han Chinese (漢族) Jungwon(中原) Confucian culture recognized the expression of hyeonjo (玄鳥), such as a three-legged crow in a circle, as representing the sunspot of the sun, and the sunspots were also considered to cover the sun, the symbol of the king. This is because the expression of the present expression in everyday sentences gradually disappeared, and instead, everyday sentences in which the sun was expressed as a circle became common.
Also, in the early Joseon Dynasty, many moonsangmuns were expressed as a crescent moon, and in the late Joseon Dynasty, it appeared as a full moon. This is because the new moon is the moon that goes to the full moon, which means expansion and prosperity, and the full moon symbolizes abundance. On the other hand, the newly-expressed daily statement, which spreads its wings and flies in a round circle that symbolizes the sun, appears in the tombstones of the early Joseon dynasty, such as Lee Guk-ju, Lee Gon, Park Un, and Byeon An-ryul in the mid-to-late 16th century.
It is noteworthy that the expression of a bird flying in the daily door is seen at a time when it was recognized that correcting the mind of the monarch was an important issue while experiencing the tyranny of Yeonsan-gun. Moreover, Gon Lee is a person who participated in the anti-jeong of Jungjong, and Woon Park is the son of Won-jong Park, who served as the best contributor to the anti-jeong of Jung-jong. Considering these facts, the bird (Hyeonjo), a messenger of a thousand people flying in the circle, said, “If the monarch does a real situation, the sky warns him of the situation, and if he still does not realize it, the heavenly mandate is transferred to the virtuous and compassionate monarch. Let's succeed in power.” can be seen as representing the theory of sensation of heaven in the East, Middle East, and the like (天人感應說).
To summarize the life and death of the Joseon Dynasty through the Ilwolsangmun, which was published on the tombstones examined so far, first, the sun and the moon always circulate and regenerate in the same form. By reading Wolsangmun, it reflects the world of the world where life in this world is hoped to continue to the other world. Second, the daily texts appearing in Myoje's magnificence contain the political times when Myoju(墓主) lived, the view of the world, and the life of Myoju, and reflects religious influences. Therefore, despite the fact that everyday and Wolsangmun are expressed in the grandeur of Myoje for the dead, they actively contain the real world rather than the afterlife.
