초록

This paper has been written to review the status of the literary history of “February 28 literature” which was distorted in the magnetic field of the post colonial discourse including the spirit of exodus from China, so called Taiwan independence spirit, which has been actively put forward in Taiwanese literary world after martial law was released in 1987.
According to the review, the spirit of exodus from China has seldom been found in the works such as Lv He-ruo’s short story “Winter Nights”, Ou Tan-sheng’s “A Gosling”, Qiu Tian-ping’s “Rural Self-Defense Forces”, Ou Tan-sheng’s “Get Drunk”, and Bo Zi’s “Blood and Regret of Taiwan Island”before and after “February 28 case” in 1947. These novels reflect well 1)Cheers for the termination of imperialist wars from China and 2) Expectations about establishing the constitutional laws of China and Taiwan’s law based governing.
However, Japanese colonial would not allow Taiwanese to use the standard language of China, so called mandarin, resulting in the deepening conflicts due to communication difficulties between the Nationalist Party(KMT) rulers and local Taiwanese residents. Then, the relationship between local residents and immigrants from Mainland China grew into hostility after the February 28 case. Thereafter, during the martial law periods of between 1949 and 1987, Taiwan’s independence spirit deepened internally and new February 28 literature which has the spirit of the exodus of China emerged after ban-lifting.
Based on these points, this paper emphasizes that the spirit of February 28literature was based not on the post colonialism but on the anti colonialism at that time and presents the perspective that the post colonialism of Taiwanese literature must restart from the recovery of the anti colonialism.
