조선족문학의 민족 정체성과 『연변문예』 매체사 (The Ethnic Identity of Korean-Chinese Literature and the Media History of Yŏnbyŏn munye)

초록

이 글에서는 연변 조선족의 한글 문예지 『연변문예』의 매체 분석을 통해, 조선족의 정체성이 중국문학장의 ‘반우파 투쟁’(1957~59)과 문화혁명 전후(1974~79)에 어떠한 역사적 변천을 겪었는지 살펴보았다. 연변 조선족문학의 물적 기반이었던 문예지 『연변문예』는 1951년 창간되어 『아리랑』(1957~58), 『연변문학』(1959~61), 『연변』(1961~66)으로 이어지다가 문화혁명으로 폐간되었다. 『연변문예』는 소수민족 문자인 한글로 표기되어 중공 당 정책과 ‘항미원조(抗美援朝), 보가위국(保家衛國)’ 사상을 전파한다는 목적으로 창간되었다. 조선족문학의 민족적 정체성을 기준으로 볼 때, 그들의 민족문화유산과 문학적 정체성을 일정 정도 확보한 측면도 중요하다.
하지만 창작의 백화제방과 비평의 백가쟁명이 펼쳐졌던 『아리랑』(1957~58)지의 조선족 정체성은 반우파 투쟁으로 훼손되었다. 게다가 문화혁명(1966~76)으로 조선족의 한글 민족문학은 수정주의, 지방주의, 혈통주의로 규정되어 황폐화되었다. 1974년 복간된 『연변문예』(1974~76)지조차 문화혁명 2기의 비림비공운동의 선전지에 불과했다. 그러나 개혁개방기 『연변문예』(1977~78)의 이론 투쟁을 통해 문화혁명으로 궤멸되다시피 했던 조선족 민족문학의 정체성은 상당 부분 회복되었다. 연변 한글 문예지의 통시적 매체사 분석을 통해 본 조선족문학의 역사적 흐름은, 중국 당국의 정책 선전지로 출발하여 우여곡절 끝에 조선족의 문학적 독자성과 문화적 정체성을 일정 정도 확보한 것으로 확인된다. 다만 이를 두고 코리언 디아스포라 문학 문화의 민족주의적 정체성 위주로 해석하는 것은 신중할 필요가 있다. 그 또한 서울중심주의와 문화제국주의적 아전인수일 뿐이기 때문이다.

영어초록

In this article, we examined the historical changes of the Joseon people’s identity during the period of the “Anti-Rightist Struggle”(1957~59) and the Cultural Revolution(1974~79) in Chinese literary field through media analysis of the Yŏnbyŏn munye(Yanbian Korean literary magazine). Founded in 1951, the Yonnby̆n Munye became the material foundation of the literature of the Korean people in Yanbian. This magazine was published in the Arirang, Yeonbyeon Literature, and Yeonbyeon, but was closed during the Cultural Revolution. The magazine was published with the aim of spreading the Chinese Communist Party’s policy and the idea of “supporting North Korea against the United States and protecting the country.” Through this magazine, ethnic cultural heritage and literature of ethnic Koreans, who are ethnic minorities in China, were distributed to ensure their national identity.
However, the Korean identity of Arirang, a literary magazine where very rich creation and criticism were unfolded, was damaged by “Anti-Rightist Struggle.” In addition, due to the Cultural Revolution, the national literature written in Korean by the Chinese ethnic Koreans was defined as revisionism, localism, and pedigree, and was rejected and devastated. Even the Yŏnbyŏn munye(1974~76), which was republished in 1974, was only a propaganda site of the “Birim Bi Gong Movement” in the second period of the Cultural Revolution. However, in the period of “Reform and Opening”, the identity of the Chinese ethnic Korean Literature, which was almost destroyed by the Cultural Revolution through the theoretical struggle of Yŏnbyŏn munye(1977~78), has been restored.
It is confirmed that the historical trend of the Chinese ethnic Korean Literature seen through the analysis of the historical media history of Yanbian Korean Literature has secured a certain degree of literary independence and cultural identity of the Chinese ethnic Korean after many twists and turns. However, it is necessary to be careful to interpret this as a focus on the nationalistic identity of the Korean diaspora literary culture. This is because it is also only a Seoul-centered and cultural imperialist sub-acquisition.
