고려인 시에 재현된 ‘시월 모티프’ 연구 - 『시월의 해빛』을 중심으로 (A Study on ‘Motif of October’ Represented in Kareisky Poetry - focused on Siwolui Haetbit(The Sunshine of October))

초록

이 논문은 카자흐스탄 알마아타(알마티)에서 발간된 작품집 『시월의 해빛』을 중심으로 시월 모티프 시를 분석하였다. 고려인들은 연해주 시절에 이어 강제이주 이후에도 시월혁명, 시월혁명을 주도한 레닌, 시월혁명에 의해 탄생한 소련에 대한 찬양을 내용으로 하는 송시 및 찬가 형태의 ‘시월 모티프’ 시들을 일관되게 창작하였다.
필자는 강제이주 전 연해주 시절의 시에서는 시월혁명의 이데올로기에 대한 순수한 환상이 작용하였다고 파악했다. 즉 소수민족들의 자결권을 인정하고 소비에트가 다민족국가로 조화롭게 발전할 것을 강조하는 레닌의 정책에 대한 조선 이주민들의 매혹이 작품 형상화에 반영되었을 것으로 해석했다.
하지만 강제이주 후에도 천편일률적으로 시월 모티프 시들이 계속 창작된 점에대해서는 해석을 달리한다. 즉 소련 지배사회로 빠르게 진입하기 위한 생존전략의차원에서 그들은 모국어교육을 포기했는가 하면, 문학에서도 그들의 내면을 은폐하고, 소련의 국민으로서의 집단적 페르소나를 투사하는 ‘시월 모티프’를 반복적으로 형상화하는 송시 형태의 시들을 써온 것으로 보았다. 더욱이 억압적인 스탈린체제하에서 사회주의 리얼리즘에 입각한 창작태도가 시월 모티프의 시로 나타났다고보았다.
근본적으로는 대러시아주의를 표방한 스탈린의 강력한 동화주의 정책에 의해고려인들은 주류집단 참여에는 적극적인 반면 고유문화의 정체성 유지에는 소극적인 동화의 생존전략을 선택했고, 시월 모티프의 시들은 고려인들의 동화에 대한 과장된 제스처로 파악했다.

영어초록

This review expresses personal opinions about the Kareisky Poetry,Siwolui Haetbit(The Sunshine of October) (1971), a collection published in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan.
Siwolui Haetbit consistently praises Russian October Revolution, its leader Lenin, and the Soviet Union founded by him and Bolshevik. Korean poets represent the assimilated attitude into the Soviet Union without any conflict of national identity, and they didn’t reveal even nostalgic toward their native place. They kept silent about the pain they went through under deportation in 1937 and settlement in Central Asia. This poetic trend highly deviates from a type of other Foreign Korean Literature.
Korean had high-quality education and learned Russian instead of the native language in order to enter the white-collar level successfully.
Moreover, even in literature, they had concealed the inside and written poetry that have a form of an anthem, which projects Collective Persona.
However, after appearance of Gorbachev and dissolution of the Soviet Union, they reinterpreted deportation and recalled suppressed memories.
They had hidden Korean identity into Persona assimilated as Russian for a long time.
Siwolui Haetbit was born by survival strategies for upgrading status in the Soviet Union-dominated society, the policy of censoring and self-censorship,and the literature-creative attitude based on socialism.
However, is that all? It is Russian October Revolution that caused economic emigration to the Maritime Province of Siberia, political exile, and independence movement-featured and philosophical migration. Immigrants from Joseon were excited about Lenin’s policy, and this attitude would be reflected to literature of Korean such as Jo Myung-hee, who was exiled by oppression of KAPF. Jo Myung-hee was shot for Stalin’s purges of minority leaders in 1938, but until then, didn’t he have vain fantasy of Russian October Revolution?Now the number of writers who use Korean is very few. This phenomenon appears equally in other Foreign Korean Literature of the third and forth-generation Korean immigrants.
It is precious literary property that experience of diaspora such as Korean suffering from settlement in Central Asia through the Maritime Province of Siberia, adaptation to their country of residence, and so on. In addition, culturalfusion and hybridity of the mother country and the country of residence can call creative imagination. Strategies and attitudes to apply diaspora’s conflict, ambivalent identity, marginality, and vague boundaries as own literary personality and energy are required.
