황빈훙(黃賓虹)의 금문입화(金文入畫) 연구와 그 의의: 화법 및 화도(畫道) 중건을 통한 화학(畫學) 중흥 (A Study of Huang Binhong's Bronze Epigraphic Painting and Its Connotations)

초록

본 논문은 황빈훙의 금문입화 연구를 통해 중국 전통 문인화의 마지막 단계인 만청 민국시기 이서입화의 특징과 그 의미에 대해 고찰한 것이다. 황빈훙은 청대 한학과 그에 비판적인 만청 경세사조를 흡수해 정통회화의 첩학입화와 청말 민초 금석회화의 비학입화에 반성적인 금문입화의 새로운 내용과 체계 방식을 제시했다. 그 중 오필칠묵론은 전통 법식을 해소할 뿐 아니라, 금문학을 통해 필묵 고법의 원형, 즉 장봉호미의 일파삼절과 사법조화 한 농담소밀의 최종 원칙을 규명해냈다. 또한 <태극필법도>를 통해 “점으로 준을 대신”하는 화법을 획득함으로써 기존의 고정된 작화 체계를 극복하고, 내미가 충만한 민족 회화의 혼후화자한 정통 경계를 구현할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 황빈훙은 중국 회화가 지향하는 사법조화의 경지에 대해 도가 사상에 입각한 ‘민학’의 가치 해석을 부여함으로써 근대에 이르러서도 여전히 중흥을 도모하고, 세계의 학술문화와 소통할 수 있는 토대를 제공했다.

영어초록

This paper investigates the characteristics and connotations of yishu ruhua (以書入畫 ) in late Qing dynasty and early Republic of China, that marked the last stage of traditional Chinese literati painting, as exemplified by a study of Huang Binhong’ s jinwen ruhua (金文入畫 ). Huang Binhong absorbed the textology of the Qing dynasty and the statecraft thought of the late Qing dynasty, which was critical of the former, and presented the new content and system of jinwen ruhua (金文入畫 ), which was reflective of both the tiexue ruhua (帖學入畫 ) of orthodox painting and the beixue ruhua (碑 學入畫 , stone tablet painting) of the jinshi huapai (金石画 派, Epigraphic Painting School) of the late Qing dynasty and early Republic of China. Among those, the wubi qimo (五 筆七墨) theory not only resolved the traditional methods (法式) but also identified the archetypes of classical brush-and-ink painting through jinwenxue (金文學), the final principles of both yibo sanzhe (一波三折) of cangfeng huwei (藏鋒護尾: a brushstroke technique that conceals the brush tip and tail) and nongdan shumi (濃 淡疏密) using shifa zaohua (師法造化) , respectively. He also explained how cangfeng huwei is used in yibo sanzhe (一波三折: a brushstroke method that uses three turns), and how nongdan shumi (濃淡 疏密: the light and shade of ink and the denseness of brushstrokes) is used in shifa zaohua (師法造化: learning from nature and creating transformations). With taiji bifatu (太極筆法圖) he also acquired a painting method that “substitutes dots for cun (皴 : brush strokes),” which allowed him to break free from the established system of creating paintings and achieve the authentic hunhou huazi (渾厚華滋) of national paintings, full of “inner beauty, characterized by profound depth and dynamism.” Finally, by interpreting the shifa zaohua (師法造化) discipline in Chinese painting through the lens of minxue (民學: uninstitutional study) rooted in Taoist (道家) thought, Huang Binhong laid the groundwork for its revival in the modern era and its integration into global academic and cultural circles.
