토픽모델링을 활용한 대학 인성교육 동향 분석－뉴스 빅데이터를 중심으로 (An Analysis of the Trends in Character Education in University Using Topic Modeling with Big D ata News)

본 연구는 대학 인성교육 관련 뉴스 빅데이터를 활용하여 정부의 인성교육진흥법 시행 전⋅후 시기별 주요 키워드와 토픽을 분석함으로써 거시적인 관점에서의 대학 인성교육 동향을 파악하고, 대학 인성교 육의 내실화를 위한 의미있는 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2010년부터 2021년까지 발표된 뉴스 빅데이터를 수집한 후, 데이터 정제 과정을 거쳐 총 510건의 뉴스 데이터에 대하여 토픽모델링 기법을 적용하였고, 인성교육진흥법 시행 전⋅후 시기의 대학 인성교육 관련 토픽과 주요 키워드를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 정부의 인성교육진흥법 시행 전에는 대학의 인성교육 동향이 ‘사회성 증진을 위한 필수 인성교육’, ‘인성역량을 갖춘 글로벌 창의인재 육성’, ‘교양교육에서의 학생 인성교육 강화’, ‘인성교육 우수대학과 인문학 공부’, ‘인성교육 내실화 위한 정부정책’을 중심으로 나타났다. 특히 이 시기에 상대적으로 많은 비중을 차지하는 토픽은 ‘인성역량을 갖춘 글로벌 창의인재 육성’과 ‘인성교육 내실화 위한 정부정책’이었다. 인성교육진흥법이 시행된 이후 시기에는 대학의 인성교육 동향이 ‘미래사 회 준비를 위한 인성교육’, ‘대학에서의 인성중심 패러다임 구축’, ‘인성과 전문성을 갖춘 인재양성’, ‘대학의 인성교육 방향 재설정’, ‘정규교과 및 비교과를 통한 인성교육 확대’를 중심으로 나타났다. 특히 이 시기에 상대적으로 많은 비중을 차지하는 토픽은 ‘정규교과 및 비교과를 통한 인성교육 확대’와 ‘대학에서의 인성중심 패러다임 구축’이었다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 대학 인성교육 방향에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

영어초록

This study attempted to identify the trends in university Character Education from a macro perspective and to derive meaningful implications for the internalization of university Personality Education by analyzing major keywords and topics used by the government before and after the implementation of the Personality Education Promotion Act (PEPA). For this study, after collecting news big data, which was announced from 2010 to 2021, topic modeling techniques were applied to a total of 510 news stories through a data refinement process. The topics and key keywords related to college Personality Education were analyzed before and after the PEPA was implemented.
As a result of the analysis, before the government's implementation of the PEPA, the trends at university were centered on “essential Personality Education to promote sociality,” “cultivating global creative talents with personality capabilities,” “strengthening student Personality Education,” and “government policy to enhance Personality Education.” In particular, the topics that account for a relatively large proportion during this period were “fostering global creative talents with personality capabilities” and “government policies to internalize Personality Education.” In the period after the implementation of the PEPA, the Personality Education trends at university centered on “Personality Education for future society preparation,” “building a personality-centered paradigm in universities,” “building talent with personality and expertise,” and “expanding Personality Education through formal and informal curriculum.” In particular, the topics that account for a relatively large proportion during this period were the “expansion of Character Education through formal and informal curriculum” and “building a character-centered paradigm in universities.” Based on the results of this study, implications for the direction of university Personality Education were presented.
